Recent Removal and Painting of Center Console

Has anyone recently removed and painted their center console? What kind of paint did you end up using? Did you finished off with a clear or not needed?

My paint is scratched and peeling over the years. Could you a refinish. I would like to see what others have recently done.

As a option maybe consider leather... I had the same problem with the paint and used Classic 9 Leathershop to redo my center console in black leather. I got mine installed, although you can DIY for less. They even will do a custom color on a French accent seam on the console lid. They recovered the leather on my armrest lids as they had some wear. They use Porsche leather. Costs a bit more than painting but I'm really happy.

See attached. I wish I would have added green stitching to match the pedal accent... let me know if you can't find them online. I have a pricelist still I could email.

I had a short shift kit installed by an indy and got the console done at the same time. Sorry, no help on DIY.

that looks terrific, I am too am looking at redoing my console having a grey puddy interior i am going to get the console done in a darker (grey or black) color. Have been debating over paint vs. leather.
