How to increase throttle response???

I love my 996; however, I am disappointed with the poor throttle response. I am familiar with the Sprint Booster and I drove a 996 that had it. I liked the throttle response from the Sprint Booster but was wondering if there is anything else that would improve throttle response

I would keep the rpm's higher, ie: downshifting/lower gear, to get better throttle response. Porsche's have always been a performer at higher RPM's.

Nope. If you've driven the SB, and liked it, why wait? It is great, inexpensive and an easy install. Your throttle response becomes almost instant. There is no negative. Actually, some $1,000 + tunes will help with the throttle response. So, $300 or $1,000 - your call.

Whew! All the sites that sell the SB say it's for the 2000 and up Porsches. Looks like I saved some money! My wife will be happy.

I could be wrong, but just looking at your signature your car is a '99 and could still use a throttle cable not drive by wire so the sprint booster would not work. Before you buy make sure you have drive by wire

FWIW, going with a different intake in increase your low rpm throttle response too... That was my first mod, an Evo intake, there was definitely a crisper throttle response.

Hope that helps...

I really noticed a BIG increase in response after installing the larger IPD performance plenum and the larger GT3 throttle body. This was in addition to the EVOMS intake I already had.

My car does have the Evo CAI. I also have the IPD plenum, and I guess I'll check out the GT3 throttle body. The Sprint Booster will be my next upgrade

I think to take advantage of the GT3 TB you have to have an IPD plenum designed for it.

Thanks. I never really thought about buying the SB for my car. When I want throttle response I just fire up the Z06.
