advice on selling...?
Hey guys!
So I am going to be selling my C2 Convertible here in a bit. I have a question --- I currently have some minor things installed on the car (coilovers, adjustable control arms, air intake, strut brace)
Do you guys think I should leave those parts on the car and sell it as it sits currently? or should I remove all those and sell the car as factory stock and sell the parts separately?
I imagine my parts as follows are worth about $1.5 if I resell?
- Ksport 36 way adjustable coilovers with 25K miles of highway cruising to and from work
- K&N Intake with 30K miles on it
- Adjustable rear camber/control arms (ones that help make the car aligned) I believe by Agency Power... can't recall at the moment
- Adjustable strut brace
What are your thoughts? Should I remove all and market without the extra parts? or should I market with them on and then give the option of taking them off to reduce the price?
... oh and yea - still staying porsche just want to go back to the 1980's
Thanks,
Paul

First I wouldn't be selling a cab. during the winter. You'll get less than you will come spring/summer. If you think you'll recoup anything around half of what you spent on your after-market parts... good luck. Most people I know in our Porsche community prefer stock unless you have someone that wants exactly what you have on your car. If your aftermarket additions have a unified purpose not "random" parts put on, then the final output might be purpose built - which might be okay. I would put it back to stock and sell in the spring. Your area may differ but probably not by much.

Agreed. Most buyers prefer stock.
The next issue is who is doing the work and for how much? If you need to spend a ton in labor to revert to stock, then you may net zero proceeds in taking off the aftermarket parts. E.g., Let's suppose the coilovers are worth $900. It may cost you $900 to go back to stock including the alignment. You will net zero. The K&N intake is easy to switch back to stock. You can always find someone who likes the increased induction noise.

I mostly agree with whats been said, but here is my 2 cents.
I;d leave it as is and advertise the mods with the caveat "have all original parts", you won't recoup the dollars you laid out but I would suspect someone out there will appreciate the mods. What do you have to lose?
Put a price on it you think is fair and test the waters, you never know.
