Performance intakes

Performance intakes
I am thinking about changing the factory air intake and I was looking into fabspeed. After doing some research I came across K&N and after comparing prices vs. performance it seems evident to me that value for your money is K&N. Any experience with any of them or another one besides these two?

I don't have either of these, I have the EVO CAI, and I am happy with it. From what I know about the price of both, the Fabspeed is much better looking and much much more expensive, but I suspect that there is not much difference in either Fabspeed or K&N performance value. Check around a little more, there are other CAIs that are also very good.

I just installed the Fabspeed intake on my 4S and I'm very happy with it. I can tell a 'seat-of-the-pants' difference and it sounds great when you stomp on the gas. It is pretty pricey though, I got lucky and got a deal on mine from someone on the forum.

From what I've seen over the years the K&N gives the most WHP and WTQ of all other intakes on the market but also kills the most MAF's if over oiled. I have the EVO version of conical intake, btw.

My two cents,
I kept the original air box and installed a replacement filter with a K&N free flow filter, then installed the silicone air intake hose, this works great for me. When cleaning the filter you only have to oil the intake side so no real MAF problems. Total cost about $125.00 and you can really hear the engine sucking the air.

I have the Fabspeed on mine for about a year and it's been great. Sounds awesome and looks killer. I would highly recommend it. I posted a video on her last year "Birthday Shakedown Cruise" that will give you a pretty good idea of the sound under WOT.
