has anyone purchased this unit and tried it out, seems very reasonable, but I am not familiar with all the Porsche codes (been years since I worked in the auto repair field)

Never seen that website before. The screenshots of the software are from Durametric. It's considered the defacto hardware/software combo to use for us DIY guys.
