Bad day
I was in an accident this past week (thankfully not in the 996). Totaled my 01 Tacoma when a van rear ended me pushing me I to another car. The van drove away. The worse part my left knee was ****ed up. Total tendon reconstruction needed and the kneecap had to be pinned back to get her. While painful and requiring a log rehab the thing I will miss most is driving my 996. For what looks like eight weeks or more. So it willsit in the garage taunting me until I can get behind the wheel once again.
Enjoy your car gentlemen, you never know when you may lose that opportunity.

Glad you're not in any worse condition and glad you weren't in your 911.
Positive is you still have your life, all your limbs, and your 911 wasn't the accident victim. I'd say you did alright given the circumstances.

I have a battery charger set up already I just need the wife to plug it in. I also need to put some Sta-bil in the tank. I know I will be okay and I really appreciate all the kind thoughts. It is just that I enjoy my car so much and and I also enjoy my instructing duties.
My other concern is that I will now be overly anxious when drive on the freeway once I get back behind the wheel. Any of you go though this sort of thing?

I've been in a few accidents with no post-accident anxiety. My wife was hit from behind several times in her BMW Z3 and became very anxious about cars coming up behind her in traffic. She's driving an SUV now that people can see. Her anxiety has relaxed over time.
On the plus side, your 996 is seeing the benefit of a brief rest on ticking up the odometer. That has to be a positive in the value department!

Your 911 will be fine and this is just a hiccupp. Sorry that you had to go through that but thankfully you have your life. I see we are both in the same city, when you recover let me know and Ill pitch you a beer!

I'm sorry to hear and glad you will be ok. Knees recover pretty quickly so you'll be back having fun in your pcar soon enough. A truck skidded on ice into me (T-boned) in high school. Driving anxiety lasted 2-3 weeks. My home was broken into twice in Louisiana, and my bad guy anxiety also lasted a couple weeks. Security alarm scared off the intruders on both occassions but I still wore a holster ALL day, packed one in a diaper bag, and in the car. I agree with db, it's just a hiccup.
