Nano technology?

Nano technology?
I am currently overseas and purchased my first 996 cab (US spec)... The body has a couple of knicks here and there and went to get an estimate to fix them and to get a professional detailing job. The gentlemen asked if I wanted the nano technology put on after the waxing of the car... I wasn't aware of this, and can't find too much info. The car's paint looks above average for a 15 year old car and am thinking it will help me protect for at least another 5 years. Thoughts?

Just a few articles, ask him if he can show you a before and after comparison.

I did that on one of my cars. It seems to work. Very easy to clean now. The dealer sprayed a business card on half and the paper card beaded diesel fuel on it. It never soaked into the paper on the treated side.

Nano technology is one of those marketing buzzwords thrown around a lot. Doesn't mean it's any good depending on the product.
A lot of advancements have been made in the past few years on car synthetic polymers.
Paint sealants generally only last 4-8 months max. More recent paint "coatings" are suppose to last a lifetime for the pro versions but still require some level of maintenance. Almost all good sealants and coatings will protect even against harsh chemicals. Google paint sealant sharpie test to see the durability in action.
IMO, if you want long term protection, I would only use a tried and true synthetic paint coating like CQuartz.

Just got my 996 back from the detailer and i couldn't be happier. It took 4 days for him to detail it, and cure the Nanolex on the car. Unfortunately it was raining when i picked the car up...Fortunately with Nano the car looked the same when i got home. This stuff is amazing and he has guaranteed it for 5 years! Couldn't be happier, and the best part i don't have to worry about clear film turning yellow! Definitely worth it!
