C2 Trans mount option?

C2 Trans mount option?
I did a little searching and did not come up with anything immediately, perhaps I was using the wrong search terms.
Has anyone used this WEVO Boxster Motor mount in place of the 996 C2 Transmission mount? The thread here makes it seem as though these two mounts are interchangeable and the same thing. If that holds true then this mount could be installed without removing the trans (Using the Wayne Dempsey method in 101 Projects).
Does anyone have any experience with this or opinion?

What are you trying to achieve here? If you are trying to stiffen up the transmission mounts then I would suggest the Function First Street Inserts. I did the along with the semi-solid engine mounts a few weeks ago and have come to really like the set-up.
Note: At first there will be a lot of noise and vibration in the cabin, but after a few days of driving the mounts and inserts "seat" or break-in and this reduces that significantly. In mine now, unless I'm under heavy throttle it's just a bit more than stock, when sitting still can't notice. BUT it took a while to get to this point.

I have read a lot about the FF mount inserts and agree this would be my choice if my existing mount is in good shape. However, if once I get under there and find that my mount is shot and needs replacement (which FF suggests to use a new mount if it has cracks or is deteriorated), I would rather cut out the old one per the Dempsey technique (no press required) and install this Boxster motor mount (no press required) with the trans still in the car. My clutch is recent and my IMS bearing has been replaced so I have no reason to drop the transmission if I can get away with using this mount. Clear as mud? Plus it stiffens stuff up as a bonus. AND its only $133.

shop installed it. technically you drop tranny and press old mount out.
The mount housing is alum so with the tranny in car, it can be cut and tapped out in pieces. Installation after that is easy as no need to press in.
Very stiff...along with semisolid motor mounts, feel was awesome. You do hear a whine...which I loved...if you're sensitive to sound and like a "luxury" feel, it's not for you.

Not skeered of noise, I have the Fister exhaust mod so there is already more noise, along with coilovers which gives me a non luxury ride, a little more vibe and whine will not be an issue. Thanks for the feedback. My main objective was to replace the mount without removing the transmission and have to use a press.
