Thanks for all the info guys. Looks like I will pass on this one then. To bad as I've always wanted one. But don't want to lose my butt when I resell a year from now. Maybe something else will pop up down the road.

I don't trust a dealer farther than I can toss them,,he might have paid $31 but I doubt it...like the other poster said $25 or less....don't be in hurry, if that's the car u want and not in hurry, they will call..
cars are like busses, miss one and another one will be along in 10 minutes..good luck..

If they truly took it in on a trade at $31k then they most likely inflated the selling price of new vehicle or inflated the interest of the financing. Dealers generally don't give trade in value over the black book price unless they can make it up elsewhere.

I doubt they paid 31k for it. They are just trying to make you feel good about only paying 1k more. They paid 20-25 for it. (Dare I say lower)
You have Porsche envy, I don't blame you they are great cars.
Take a step back and check the market, and also try to educate yourself on the 996. 32k is top dollar for a c4s so it better be immaculate.
Only plan on keeping for a year or two.... until you realize how great a car it is. The c4s is close to max depreciation, so you shouldn't a huge hit if you decide to sell.

hahahahha, paid 20-25 for it?? Where the hell do you come up with such ridiculous info? i'm amazed what some people that have no idea about the car business spew here. there have only been 3 or 4 C4s even up on Mannheim the past year, so if auction is in the $27,000 range avg what makes you think this car can EVER be bought in the condition his car is in for 10-25.
Get the car bro, $32,000 is a good price for a C4s with those miles, here in CALIFORNIA those are going for crazy money rite now
Below are some of the last C4S that went through manheim, no where will you see the 20-25 these people here are talking about unless its a **** car with below avg rankings
08/21/14 CHICAGO Regular $29,600 38,051 Above GRAY M Yes
10/30/14 PA Regular $27,500 52,659 Avg SILVER 6G 6 Yes
03/09/15 ORLANDO Regular $29,900 31,141 Above SILVER 6G 6

Hey Tarek, I am in the business and while I don't do many Porsches I do some. I would have given them a buy bid of 24k for that car. you are right 20 is low but 25 is pretty damn close. I am in SoCal too obviously ; )

i only do Porsches pretty much, and that C4S would bring tons of money specially with those low miles- log onto Manheim and check the crazy prices they have been going for since 2014

Hmm now you have me thinking about it again. Haha. We still have the car. Think they are either going to wholesale it or put it through the auction in 2 weeks. I'd probably put 5k miles on it in a year and then sell it. Looks like prices have stayed steady and I would loose maybe $6k or so as I have to put tires on it sooner then later. I don't think this will go up in value though.

They probably needed to make a deal on the other car and put TOP$ in the trade to make it happen.

Actually i've worked with many honest straight up dealers- moving or not moving inventory, ones ethics & morals shouldn't be compromised & the 31k offer they are giving him is solid in my opinion- That looks like a Front Line ready car with low miles & a new motor- they could probably retail it to the rite person for 35k.
