Where to look

1999 C2 Cab, 93K miles, I've had it for nearly 2 years, put on about 8K miles. Currently, the front of the car shimmy's at 30 mph to 45 mph, nothing above that. Shake is evident in the steering wheel but also in the footwell and pedals. It needs new brakes, front and rear, I have pads and rotors etc. on hand, will update in near future. What should I look for in terms of the cause of the shimmy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Larry

Check the wheel bearings by driving in a large, empty, parking lot late at night when it's quiet. Drive in circles clockwise & counter clockwise to see if anything changes. Listen for changing noises.

Worn Control arm bushings is usually speed dependent to a targeted speed range. Worn ball joints can also cause vibrations but are less targeted.
