996 Tranny Mount
I know my tranny mount is bad. Are there any solutions out there that do not involve removing the transmission and pressing the mount out?? I would like to be able to do this without removing it. 2000 911 model 996 C4...HELP!

put a jack under the trans and remove the mount. go to home depot and in the glue /caulking aisle grab a tube of window weld. inject it into the failed mount all around the torn rubber creating a 74 durometer semi solid mount. after 24 hrs cure reinstall. total cost 20$

I used the FF works nicely.

Window weld is a harder durometer polyurethane than some of the offerings from FF. So if you don't mind a harsher ride and don't mind doing some additional work, it could be a good alternative as well. Personally, I think there is too much NVH with window weld on the 996 specifically. I've used it on other cars though with a good outcome.

TRACK (80A) - for optimized performance on track and racecars
2. STREET (70A) - for added performance on street cars, with less NVH
3. SOFT (60A) - for daily drivability, to restore your OEM mount with minimal NVH
window weld is a 74 durometer rating right between street and race. the perfect balance and has minimal nvh and costs less than 1/10 of the ff mounts. on a turbo porsche with 3" exhaust you cant feel any difference from stock at all. as for additional work it took all of 30 minutes to install the w/w and smooth it out. cure for 24 hrs
nvh noise vibration harmonics

I am glad I didn't buy my car from these forums... home depot window calking!?? I'm all for DIY, but injecting widow calking to avoid the $130 cost of a replacement insert? Take a little pride in your Porsche and just do it the right way... IMHO at least.

Since i make twice the power you make with every mod possible at low boost ill stand by my mod. Same durometer rating as your 130$ part. And since i have just over the entire cost of your car in mods alone ill take an inexpensive mod when i can find one
