Well,
Over the past few weeks I've been considering selling the ol' C4S, going to think it over a bit longer but I'm leaning in that direction for now.

What's the motivation or what new car do you have in mind?

You picked a good time of the year to do it for sure.

I was thinking perhaps a convertible of some type, in the future. My son is working on his MBA so the tuition and all is adding up so the funds will go to that for now.

I feel your pain. My youngest has only one semester of college left, and then I'm done paying for higher education! It was particularly tough when I had two kids attending college at the same time. My policy with my kids is that I am happy to pay for four years of undergraduate education and expenses. For anything more, they are on the hook for the cost.

I may have to upgrade the 911 next year when I have a little more cash!

Yes, I had, at one time 2 in as well. The oldest is working on his PhD so his tuition is paid for. My goal is to have both boy's leave college debt free, so I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get there. So I posted an add on Craigslist Tampa to test the market.

Those are some great reasons. My time as well will be coming in the future to give up all my toys too. For now, I'm paying for additional schooling, various lessons and such. Not exactly cheap either and something that prevents me from getting into a newer car. But our kids always come first.

Unfortunately, paying for their school could further the "entitlement" mentality that Millenials have sometimes. I'm not saying this is the case here though, but something on my mind for when I get to that stage.

Year behind you guys

Hearing your stories I don't look forward to when I send my boys off to college. By the time they attend college tuition is going to be in the 918 caliber of pricing! My parents both in the medical fields made me pay my own way through grad school. I resented my parents for a long time but now I can say I did it on my own. Good and bad I suppose in how they raised me.

I had to go in reverse order

My wife made me wait until all three were through college before the Porsche came.

Two daughters with Masters (MPA & MS) and one son with Bachelors (BS).

Both daughters now making 3x more than Mom & Dad. Both administrators, one in Government the other for a Hospital Group.

Son is living a little less conventional. Has a Bachelor of Science in Forestry Mgt. Out of 50 states, he is only missing AL & MS. Dreeged for GOLD in Nome, AK for two summers, Back Country Ranger in Idaho, Pineapple Plantation in Hawaii, Bird count for feds in everglades by kayak, restoration for Pueblo Caves in New Mexico. Now in route to Glen Allen, AK for BLM.

I Know, too much bragging, but when your kids exceed all expectations it is hard not to.

I bought my Porsche 4 months before being married so she couldn't say anything and she understood (Thankfully) ... hoping to have a child in the next year or so now....

Oh, so what you're saying is that the girls chipped in and bought you a 996 in appreciation for putting them through school?

LOL,

Too funny not to post this picture.

This is my wife and first daughter in 1979, on the right in the picture.

vdubjetta, scan in on the name on my Drag Car, this was due to an agreement made with my wife before we got married.
