The parts needed for this:

1 @ 996.505.986.90 - GT3 Cup Front Splitter for 99-01 996
12 @ Stainless Steel Self Tapping Screws
1-2 @ Your favorite adult beverage

Installation mirrors p0rsch3's installation.

Here are some quick pics I took during the install.

True that brother...
Thanks for taking the time to post pics, you seriously raised the value points on this thread. Looks great!

Thanks for the kudos.

The lift is a unknown brand that was purchased when a local custom marble countertop manufacturer went belly up.

I purchased both units they had, they used them for lifting raw stone to the cutting table. It's essentially just a lift table that I converted to a scissor lift by installing/fabricating moveable arms.

They both have a 6,000 pound capacity and run on 110V. For $500 and another $240 in materials, I think I did pretty well...

...the only downside is they are pretty high fully lowered compared to an acutal auto lift...so my ramps are a good 8" high in order to get the lowered 996 and the earlier 911 I have on it.

sorry for the newbie question, but what do 99 owners use for a front lip if this one will only fit 01+ models? Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if these lips will fit on cars with front aero kits?

My car is a '99 and I am using the '99-'01 Aero Lip.

My lip is designed for the Aero equipped 996 so installation will be a breeze. The lip that p0rsch3 put on his car is the aero lip for the -02 and on car...

Sorry to be potentially beating a dead horse jstgermaine, but do you have the factory aero kit installed on your car, or did the lip you added just bolt onto the factory 99' 996 bumber?

Thanks!

I currently have this attached to the non-Aero (stock) front bumper. Whenever my Aero bumper gets back from paint, I'll move it over to the Aero bumper.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Bored is an understatement today! I've been waiting on my travel info for three days now...I leave tomorrow! Gotta love the corporate run around.

Back to the topic. I purchased a few of these from a small OE supplier. The damage at the time was $145ish each. I don't know if they still have these available though, as they are the GT3 Cup front splitter versus the smaller GT3 Street. The street version they do have, and I think those are just under $100.

They aren't a sponsor here so I won't link to them.
