UPDATE:
Here's what I've done so far (in addition to hooking up the speaker wires):
from the diagrams I've linked below...
Kenwood wire A goes to Becker wire Socket A #7
Kenwood wire B goes to Becker wire Socket A #4
Kenwood wire C goes to Becker wire Socket A #8
When I plug it in, I get no display at all. I do have power because the upside down triangle light is blinking and hitting eject causes the screen to flip up. When I push the system reset button or flip the screen up, I can notice the back light change somewhat, but still no display.
What could cause there to be no display at all? Have I missed a step?
Thanks in advance for any help... josh
looking at the Kenwood wiring diagram, I understand the speaker wiring part, but I'm a little confused on the power wiring. I've scanned the Kenwood wiring diagram - it's at http://www.jother.com/kenwood/kenwood.jpg
The wires I'm not sure about are A, B and C. I read in another post where they mention that the undocumented Bose wire should go to the blue Kenwood wire (I'm assuming that's the "Motor antenna control wire" on the Kenwood diagram, correct?)
sounds to me like you do not have the ignition and battery wires hooked up correctly.
If you have the speakers wired correctly, throw away the Becker guide.
The undocumented bose wire is the Bose amp turn-on, it should be hooked up to the Kenwood remote amplifier power line-out, NOT the power antenna wire.
Get a cheap circuit tester and grab the car's wire harness. turn the ignition off and remove the key. Now use the circuit tester and test for the battery power, it is the only wire in the harness that will be hot.
Hook that up to the kenwood battery power input.
Now turn on the ignition to position 1.
Test the car harness for a wire that is hot with the ignition on. Hook that wire up to the kenwood ignition power input.
The ground wire should be fairly obvious in the harness, I think it is a larger brown or black wire. If unsure hook the kenwood ground wire to the metal inside the dash area and secure with a screw.

Thanks for the reply. The thing that's not making sense right now is if the nav screen is ejecting (flipping open), doesn't that mean that all the power wires are hooked up correctly?
Also, do you know what the upside down triangle light means if it's flashing?
No, if it still does not turn on correctly then something is incorrect.
did you read the kenwood manual in the troubleshooting section?
This sounds to me like you either don't have the power wires hooked up correctly, or you do not have a proper ground wire hooked up.
