Well I now have about 3 degrees negative with about a 16th toe in in the rear, and WAY to much toe in up front... I had to modify the little sensor arm for the PSM, since there isn't a provision for that arm mount on the GT3 unit. The trick is to drill and tap a small hole into the arm, and modify the plastic bracket that the arm bolts to. Then I mounted the plastic onto the GT3 arm. I took pics and will post them later.

The front arms are easy to install, but you have to make sure not to install the wrong arm onto the wrong side (slotted center hole for the fork has the offset hole to the rear for added caster.).

I used a 7mm shim and it looks as if the toe is WAY in and although I cranked it out a bit, I still need to bring the fronts out a lot more... Overall, the install is very easy though. I think I had four hours front and rear and that included a bunch of time for setting up the suspensions once the parts were installed...

This car should handle much better now...

Those of you who track your cars, you'll really need to get much more negative camber in order to run truly fast times... Take a look at the lap times thread... I'm cording the outsides of my MPSCs with the previous 1.5 negative front and 2.0 negative rear setup... I'm hoping the 3 degree negative is going to give me much more use out of the whole surface of the tire, instead of killing the outter edges.

I'll find out this coming weekend.

Mike

GT3 Arm mod for 996TT...

Couple pics of the toe before installing the control arms up from...

I'm amazed at how much flex there is in the "fork" rubber on the forks that attach to the control arm at the center hole... I mean REALLY amazed... There's hardly any resistance in the rubber OEM at all...

Oak, The tip you gave me came after the parts were ordered and being shipped to me...

The goal right now is to get thru this season with as little cash outlay as possible... If I keep the car, I'll be going over the whole suspension over the winter, to include RSR mounts for the motor, trans and everywhere else on the car...

More pics:

Took the car to the local Indy shop and had them re-check the alignment and isntall those stupid F'n clips on the clutch hydraulic lines for the TSB-3001 issue, and bleed the clutch for me... Looks like I'll end up with 3 degrees negative front and 2.5 negative rear on the setup... He's recommending this setup based on what the car is currently lacking in suspension and tire...

I need to install the Toe Link kit, the bushings in the forks, the pillow mounts in the tops of the struts, the motor mounts... And I'm sure a few more "things"... As Kevin would say, I stil have a very "active" suspension...
