Gorgeous fabrication work. The intake layout is very similar to Protomotive which is a proven design, but the BOVs near the plenum did not make the 996TT MAF happy. Did they delete the 2 997TT MAFs and instead use a manifold air pressure sensor?

My only concern is 750rwhp on stock internal = Boom!
What is the consisous on how much power can be made before changing internals?

Growing up the car magazines said how amazing Porsches are. Was I brainwashed? Somehow...I doubt it.
Just out of curiousity, why standalone engine management? Admittedly, I'm just starting to learn about the Porsche aftermarket, but it was my understanding that Porsche uses the same ME box Bosch ECU's that Audi and Volkswagen use. If that's the case, why not just tune straight into the ECU?
Just curious. Otherwise, the quality of that work looks outstanding!
Wow Tim Switzer has come a long way from building Evo's for david buscher.I had no idea he was working on Porsches.Thats some impressive craftmanship there.Cant wait to hear your feedback on this kit.Are those 30r turbos or 35r.

I seen this set up at Protomotive about 2 months ago...
Probably a bell intercooler core... It's a basic protomotive set up with the intake, piping etc...

Mark,
There are actually quite a few differences in this set-up, but yes, Todd works closely with Tym. I know Todd can't say enough good things about Tym and vice versa. Tym's fab work, cutting edge stand-alone, attention to detail, etc. is unequalled by anyone on this board. I have been fortunate to have worked with both Todd and Tym....and both are outstanding.

Hello everyone. About 3 weeks ago I sold my previous 997 Turbo and decided to pick up another. My previous Turbo was modified by Switzer Performance with their exhaust, headers and upgraded VTG's. Tuning of the factory DME was performed by Protomotive. This car had run extremely well and I had a lot of fun driving it. However, after picking up the CGT over the summer I decided that I would like to have a 997 Turbo that was a bit more "over-the-top". I spoke with Tym Switzer regarding my expectations and goals for the car and decided to leave it to him to build what he felt was appropriate to meet those goals. I dropped off the car at Switzer's about 2 1/2 weeks ago in order for them to perform their magic with the car. I checked in with them today and I was astounded to see how much they had accomplished. As it turns out, they are looking to start the car tomorrow and begin the tuning of the stand alone engine management system.
I have to mention that I was completely blown away by the craftsmanship I witnessed on the car. I'll try to post a couple of pictures of the project so that you can see what I mean.
Hi David,
This is a killer project! I've been out of the loop on some of the newer 997 developments. FYI, I think my old GT2 is coming up to Tym's for a quick check-up in the next month or two, it would be great to run these cars side by side to see how the GT30's compare with different tuning and platforms.
I may have to go check it out today.
