is this true? evo700 the one who hit the 10.8 was with 3.8 internals ?
Definetely not true,I have video of the EVT 700 in N.J. at Atco raceway from over a year ago (June of 2007)running 10.80's in 90 degree weather.(I will post it if there are any doubters)The 3.8 kit was still not developed at this time and the motor had not been opened up yet.As for the whole GIAC rumor,I do not know the particulars(and neither does anyone else (but GIAC and EVOMS),but I do know Evoms has been working on their own software for quite some time.My custom setup was recently tuned by EVOMS in house(no 3rd party).

I think I saw that video -- it's the one showing the car with cats, full interior, and 'cup tires? That is indeed at least a year old.
Well, I *knew* this would get ugly, but if you insist on spreading false info like above, I can't just let you. The record has to be straight.
Yes, Evo lost their GIAC seller status. It was revoked without their consent. It was revoked for lack of payment (major, major money owed stemming back many, many months).
According to my direct top level sources at GIAC, GIAC did tuning for Evo's shop car based on 3.8l internals *before* the Texas Mile. This information was not shared with us before the shootout as per GIAC's confidentiality policies, but once Evo was cut off, so were their confidentiality privileges.
Whether or not GIAC software was used at the Mile is unclear, as Evo was already making their move to another software source before GIAC revoked their dealer status.
In fact, several Evo customers bought their 700 kit assuming that GIAC software was installed, when in fact it was not. This was confirmed after these customers sent their ECUs to GIAC directly or brought them to current GIAC authorized dealers for analysis.
That's the facts of the matter, coming from someone who witnessed the whole drama practically firsthand. I'm not here to spread gossip, but the hell if I can let such half-truths and all out falsities go on the public record.
Hey, you wanted to push this further, so here we are.
Todd S you build some great cars and this response from a tuner just sounds like sour grapes.......besides the whole shop car/ customer car argument sounds so much better.

One last invitation - I'm going to Sacto raceway tomorrow with my Protomotive 700TT car. Weather forecast is low 80s F and sunny, so traction should be good and power mediocre. I'll post the results, whatever they are. Anyone else care to join me?
Tym (my tuner) says that it can be done but nit will drive ME crazy with niddle jumping up and down all the time ))) so I am thinking should put this gadget on my beast or not...what do u guys think

Well, this is getting off topic but, the question you need to ask yourself is...do you use the chronometer? I'm willing to bet nearly 99% of all Porsche owners that have the sports chrono system probably don't use the clock. Why not convert it into something useful?
I say...go for it!
