the 993tt is stock for now. I really enjoy the "****pit" feeling of that car and may leave it unmolested for awhile. That being said, I am squirreling away various upgrade components for it...
Ah, yes, but it soon will become a "jealous sister" to your 997TT, what with all of your fawning recently over your AWE-some 700HP upgrade on her.
Honestly, the 993 to me doesn't feel as rock-steady at speed (on the flip side it has more feedback thru the wheel, stick, pedals) as the 997 chassis. I cannot imagine harnessing an extra 100-200hp or so in that car. That being said, it is in the plans for 08. Do you find your Proto monster downright scary at speed?

Some more data coming out about the Texas Mile runs. Most cars ran about 6-10mph slower than the previous event from the headwinds. A stock C6Z06 which managed 169mph last Oct only could muster 161mph this event. Also a new 08 Viper managed 169.9mph, but has turned 176-180mph before. Granted, both cars would suffer more from aero drag than the 997.

Actually, I am picking up the 993TT from Protosport fresh from its tuning on Saturday, 4/26. We decided to use Garrett GT2871R turbo's instead of K24/18 hybrids to more reliably get to what we are calling "stage 1" (650HP/lb-ft). "Stage 2" will come next winter when we change from MAF to speed sensing tuning using Proto's program with GT3071R turbo's good for 750+HP/lb-ft. Stage 1 this year gets me past NY State emissions inspection, then stage 2 can follow.
I'll update 6speed with how scared I feel once I step out of the car after I drive it back home from Protosport that Saturday night.

Sounds like we have similar 993TT built. I 've gone with the K24 hybrids for quick spool. Todd Knighton was able to squeezed out 675hp/650tq at 1.2 bar.

Most likely. Protosport uses Todd's Protomotive packages and tuning approach. John G. of Protosport recommended the change from our original plan to use K24/18 hybrids to using GT2871R turbo's partly because he thought we could more reliably get 650+HP from the OBDII-based/MAF-intake setup on the 3.8L conversion, but also because we plan to move up to the 750+HP level next year after emissions inspection using the OBDI-based/speed sensing-intake program Todd K. developed based on the '95 993 Carrera NA ECU. And because we would then upgrade the turbo's to GT3071R's next year for that program, all the flanges and other plumbing for the turbo's could be the same and wouldn't need revision from the GT2871R's.
AWE achieved 11.2 at 128 mph in early testing on pump gas. When I ran the mile into the wind the car was just a tick over 130mph at 1320' by GPS
but that was also with a weak driver performing a weak launch....

11.2 sound a bit too low for 997TT with 700HP when some GT700 996s run high 10s on pump...
There is some video on the net..I think techart 630HP 997TT with 20 inch wheels ruinig something like 10.8...
First, our 11.2 run was done during development and not at our current power levels.
Second, it was on 100% street trim with no removal of exhaust, interior, etc., with 1/4 tank of 93 octane and on street tires.
Third, a 996 GT2 has a weight advantage.
Fourth, I have never seen the numbers you posted above for the other cars done on pump gas on a full weight car. I may be incorrect, but I don't think so.

WOT and bang shifting @ the dragstrip twists a lot of axles off and bakes clutches on what are normally demonically fast street cars. The 700 kit guys like the roll-on acceleration but rightfully won't want to blow transmissions and axles at the strip. Who could blame them?
