Pics & Review of My Bilstein PSS10 Lowered Red Turbo
#152
If you look carefully, you will see there is an ABS skid plate installed under the lip. This helps a lot.
RSS/Stuttgart Performance fabricated the plate, chamferred the edge, and installed it using reverse rivets (I learned of this from "Mike/Gotboost," who has the same thing.). It's beautifully done and does offer a lot of protection.
I really really really love the look of the lip; much more than I had expected. I still stare at it every so often. This is my favorite shot of the TechArt lip so far:

Some more pictures.
For the photographer buffs: Camera = Canon 1D, shoot in RAW format. Lenses = Canon 85 f/1.2, Contax Distagon 21 f/2.8.

Rufluv, thanks!
Eclou, a compliment from a veteran like you is nice indeed. (Sometimes looking at old old posts, I'm "startled" to notice how far ahead of the curve you have always been. ) I hope you don't mind that for whatever reason my car ends up looking & modded similar to yours.
One more, repost without GIAC comp free advertisement - LOL:

From last weekend mountain drive with the Los Angeles Porsche Club. Not such a good original pic so I decided to have fun with Photoshop.

Thanks Neil. Although I "talked" a lot, I actually like to do the least amount of modding possible as I am afraid of changing the inherent character & function of the Turbo as a daily driver. Now that the big 3, exhaust + ecu + suspension, have been done, I don't plan any more major change.
There are 2 minor things that I think I will get to sooner or later: the short shifter and the rear toe link. Short shifter because I know the GT2 has it. I am just hesitant because the regular length shifter feels so nice I end up not wanting to change a good thing.
Rear toe link because when I ask Porsche tuners, I've found to my surprise that it's UNIVERSALLY recommended. Too bad there is no review on this component as far as noise/harshness versus handling advantages are concerned. So now I am curious.
I recently had a change in my suspension so will wait 3-4 months before I install the rear toe link. I want to make sure I know exactly what it does to my car.

GMG 996-997 WC Toe Steer Kit
GMG's WC toe steer kit has been tested in proven in motorsports for over 5 years. A direct replacement toe steer arm for all 996 models (C2,C4,996TT,GT2,GT3,Cup,RS,RSR) and all 997 models (C2,C4,997TT,GT3,GT3RS,GT3Cup). This is an ideal upgrade for street or track cars and features Indy car Teflon lined rod end for years of use with any noise. 996 and 997 models have toe steer issues under heavy use and this toe steer kit will help minimize this suspension geometry change. If you have lowered your 996 or 997 you may have a problem when having it aligned and correcting the rear toe. The GMG WC toe steer kit allows you to adjust the toe at the toe steer arm and not at the factory eccentric which does not have enough adjustment.

No added noise with the addition of the GMG dog bone or rear toe steer kits. Just make the car feel tighter. Something that as you know I am trying to lessen a little for bumpy UK b-roads.
I would say my car has the perfect suspension mods for smooth to medium rough roads.
