No, the tubi was great, just wanted something a little louder on the track.

Joe,
I appreciate all the past hookups, believe me. I had an issue with one of your techs, which I won't go into publically. I then switched to a tubi system, which is a one peice system ( no v bands), I think this would be a big upgrade for your next version as I've always found the v band to be the weak link (loosen), but it's a trade off to be able to switch to bypass pipes, which I never had btw.
recently, I've tried the fvd 70mm system, so far so good.
regards,
c

I think they scare customers away, but what do I know anyhow.

Hello Leoneglewood, AWE is another excellent exhaust and is used by many here, including my car advisors "eclou" and "Gotboost?." Loudness is about same as Cargraphic Loud. It has a very lovely low frequency rumbling. The character of sound is more continuous, as opposed to Cargraphic's staccato nature.

You might want to consider taking a drive to AWE and take a listen. The more systems you listen, the more you will have an idea of what you like/dislike.
In addition, I hold the guys at AWE (and *some* other pro's here ) in highest regard. I think it would be tremendous fun to come and visit their shop and see & learn all the fun things they have there, regardless of whether you are going to get their exhaust system.

Can, I don't think I have nearly enough knowledge or expertise to be called an advisor to you, but thanks.

Leoneglewood,

Here are my thoughts. Tubi, Cargraphic, and AWE are all great systems. It really comes down to preference. I think build quality is equal here. I wanted an exhaust that wouldn't drone. I also wanted a higher pitch sound at WOT and AWE provides all that. For a raspier more muscular sound, Cargraphic is your best bet.(it sounds MEAN!!!) If you want an exhaust that will get you closest to what a flat 6 Ferrari might sound like, Tubi Race is your exhaust. I hear a lot of good things about the new FVD system, but I have not heard it in person yet, so I can't comment. Good luck in your decision

Joe,
The v bands you sent me had a grade 6 1/4" bolt that is rated at 12-14 ft lbs tq. I can attest that they in fact do come apart quite easily, I have a couple of skeletons in my tool box still. The only fix I found was to replace them with oem porsche exhaust clamps (simply replacing the 1/4" bolts with grade 8 helps but then the clamps fall apart when tq is applied) that have a case hardened 13mm german steel grade 8 bolt rated at 75 ft lbs of tq, anything else will loosen, leak and drone. That is the only upgrade I would suggest for your system as a customer.
Now, back on topic....

Fabspeed Motorsports was the 1st company to perfect and devlop exhaust systems for all 993TT, 996 twin Turbo and 997 Twin Turbo and was copied all across the board by all companies mentioned in this thread. (1.) For Chrissake just PM jeremy Alex or me as we sold and private labeled our Twin Turbo systems to virtually all the companies mentioned in this post.

(2.) Fabspeed Motorsports Version 3 loud export style exhaust is essentially a Cargraphic/Miltek export system but ever so slightly quieter. Todd Zuccone and others have confirmed it and essentially our system uses the same construction with better fitment and more power through better exhaust flow.

(3.) Fabspeed Version 1 is a perforated core system- and is TUBI like and I sold alot of systems to Champion in Pompano Beach for many years! It isnt rocket science.

Fabspeed Version 2 is our Quietest system and designed for Tiptronic cabriolets and cars that need to be drone free. TIP cars and Cabriolets need sound control unless the customer is GUNG-HO. The worst scenario is a TIptronic 996TT Cabriolet-- hardest car to have good sporty throaty sound. Fabspeed Version 2 Twin Turbo (996TT and 997TT) does that all.
Hi, intriguing post!

(1.) Since FVD, Tubi, and Cargraphic are prominently mentioned in this thread, do I take your statement to mean that FVD, Tubi, and Cargraphic are re-labeled Fabspeed's? I find that extremely hard to believe?!

It can't be, at least with Cargraphic right? Mine says "Made in England," or something to that effect.

(2 & 3.) Do you mean to say Fabspeed is a near exact copy of these 2 systems?
Ok, if yes, that would lead to the next question, who copied whom?? Note that I care about who copied whom, but since the "spirit" of the thread lately seems to be about the copying of designs, such as the now infamous V-band clamp.

The only way you can evaluate the sound is to hear one from the exterior and interior of the car. Many tuners (like the one you will use) can help you with that when they have other cars in, or go to a track event and talk with some of the drivers.
Don't forget AWE!

Awe is great too The best sounding exhaust (that I have personally heard) on the TT is the Tubi. The Ruf is also very nice, having a completely different character than the aforementioned exhausts. Basically, they're all good, you gotta hear them for yourself tho'!

Cargraphic Exhaust Facts

It’s really great to see that Porsche Enthusiasts have many options in regard to performance, build quality, sound level and price point. The bottom line is there are many options when it comes to Porsche Aftermarket Performance Exhaust Systems. We find it both interesting and flattering that Cargraphic seems to be the Benchmark other exhaust companies are compared to.

Just to be clear, the Cargraphic Porsche 997TT Exhaust Systems are designed and manufactured exclusively by Cargraphic at their manufacturing facilities. This is not a product manufactured by someone else and re-badged with latest trendy brand name on it. That said, here are the facts when it comes to Cargraphic Exhaust for 997TT.

Cargraphic Exhaust Kit # CARP97TETS

-TÜV approved and certified sport exhaust system.

-System features special large 130mm “trimetal catalysers” which are fully “OBD2 Emissions compliant.”

-Mandrel bent system is developed for maximum flow and achieves a power increase of 19kw (25PS) and a torque increase of 30Nm with a reduced back pressure of nearly 50%.

-Signature Cargraphic deep and throaty sound.

-Weight reduction of 5kg are further advantages of this hand-made quality stainless steel system.

-Lifetime guarantee to the original purchaser (Catalysers carry 2 year warranty, the best in the industry).

-3 sound levels available.
