I had both coupe and cab. There is no real difference in dd. Only if you track the coupe is a bit stiffer. No difference in performance so. If you have the wether get the cab. It's amazing.
I traded my Cab for a Coupe. Got tired of all the dirt blowing inside and I could hear the top flex when in backed out of my driveway on colder days. The coupe is classic and it works for me.
I just traded from cab 996tt tip to 997 coupe 6 speed.
The cab top did not wear well, it creases at the folds to the point of wear-through, mine plus many others had resin stains from the top mechanism, this was declined warranty as 'wear and tear' which i think is bs, but... the wind deflector is a pain, mine leaked water, exacerbated exhaust drone and road noise, other than that it was great !
Now the tip on the other hand...
I had a 2007 997 C4S coupe ... and loved the car. But, when I traded the car in (I lease these beasties), I decided I wanted a Turbo cab. Fortunately, one was available.
Yes, the Turbo is faster than the C4S ... like one cares driving to work. The cab is not as stiff as the coupe when you turn hard into a 90* corner, rev match shift and go ... but, again ... you can't drop the top on a coupe.
The coupe is much better looking IMO ... but, just a bit. Porsche did a nice job esthetically with the cab ... and I certainly like dropping the top in the warmer months here in New England.
Coupe vs Cab ... ? Try something different for a couple years. If you don't care for it ... get the other.
