Why don't you modify your stock turbos? GT2 turbos will cost you a fortune

I considered putting 997 gt2 turbo on my 997TT as friend of mine upgraded his factory tubro's, but couldn't find enough info regarding the gt2 turbo's. BTW what do you mean by modded turbo's?

i made the mistake of getting gt2 turbos, it increased torque by alot but the hp gain was minimal. i ended up with awe turbos and loved them

I did 997 TT upgrade with Proto turbos,ECU , exhaust ,Intercoolers ,clutch,-- fantastic result.Lost none of normal driveability but turned it into a rocket ship.
Just as easy and normal untill you get into it--and then it really performs.

I run modded turbos, big intercoolers Tiptronic ECU, DME, headers for 2 years time now.. I have done more than 40.000km with this setup full throtle.. Everything by protomotive... MY CAR is a bullet!!! Great results with no problems at all...
Now i will place the whole 3071R kit, again by protomotive..

Thank you Todd..

I think the guys over at TPC are running GT2 Turbo's? Check out the link below. They take the stock GT2 Turbo's and modify them.

TPC Racing 775Blitzkrieg our fastest 997TT yet!

i think the original question seems to be : if we can achieve 700-750 hp on modded 997 tt turbochargers, what numbers can we achieve with modded gt2 turbos since they are phisically bigger than tt so more room to put even bigger wheel in than modded 997 tt ... Am I right?

TPC highly modified turbine section increases swallowing capacity to help create a plateau like torque band, ensuring tremendous power throughout the rev-range. This amounts to a 33% more efficient turbo than a factory GT2 unit!
According to TPC, those are modded and is already bigger than the GT2 units...
