997TT MK.1 PCM 3 conversion DONE :)

so much interests ))) I can give an answers if you asks so. I have installed PCM3.0 in my cayenne 2004 already for one year. started with simple - I've ended with almosl all options that was available to activate - only bluetooth handset is still uninstalled.
in brief for conversion you will need
1. skills in electrics
2. wiring schematics
3. pcm 3.0 itself. if buy used - watch it better - can be broken or not working one - I had bad experience.
4. if your car have BOSE - new BOSE amp. if not - you also need an amp to install, porsche one called ASK, or aftermarket one, but amp needed 100% or you will burn loudspeaker outputs on a pcm.
5."quadlock" connector for PCM and different pins for it, even for optic cable.
6. also you will need ring terminators for optic - all "old" devices such as cd-changer or phone module will not work anymore. if you have tv-tuner - it also need to be new.
after you have all parts together - don't get scared, install them.
after installation it need to be coded for your car.
dealers will not sell codes to you, but don't cry - codes can be obtained without them for almost any car, I can help you with.
in most common cases PCM3 wil work just right after installation.
BUT.
options in that case can't be altered. and after a while some options will dissappear such as navi maps, bluetooth etc.
I have photos on russian site with some details - here's link if it can be interesting

serg two questions What is this gateway you describe?! and where did you buy this from ?!
and i didnt understand what you did with the codes.. will it ask for new codes ?! and if yes where did you find them ?!
Why dont you post a new topic for 6speed members with detailed descriptions on pcm retrofit... It will be very helpful.
thank you so much

I've told that options that was activated in PCM in native car, will work in your car. BUT! as 997.1 understand what is PCM3 and it can be seen thru diagnostics, in shorter time VIN writed in PCM3 automatically will changes to your car VIN, and options (one or some) will be locked.
to activate locked options you need codes...
as you might know some options of PCM3 is activated by entering a code thru dealer diagnostics. this options are navi, sportchrono, compass, ub/aux/ipod connection, bluetooth, tv in motion and some other.
porsche dealer will not sell such codes for cars which was not fitted with PSM3 from factory, eg 997.1 or cayenne 955 as mine.
so I, and some other guys, searched for long for some hacker to screw up PCM3 for getting a keygen. and finally one do this. he isn't russian, lives somewhere in eu. he can sell any code for any car almost online. not cheap, but without any problem. my friend working in porsche dealership use his codes extensively, all fine.

hacker charges alot to my mind. as I remember (it was some time ago) navi about 550$, bluetooth about 200$, usb about 150$.
I ask my friend to told with him about more friendly price, or some kind "a bunch of" price, but ended with nothing, I've paid full summ.
I do not know hacker, I can only ask my friend. you can ask me. for now - only in this way...
