57 solved an issue I was having where I'd make or relieve a phone call and is not hear any audio. The other caller could hear me fine. Tried different ways of connecting but had about a 50% hit rate. This issue was introduced with version 56. 57 resolved it.

Hey...That is Great!

Problem with mine is 0056 hung up and bricked my Dension unit...dead...no lights...no pulse...no breath!

I will start a new post soon on all the forums if the response I got from Dension sticks...Here it is!.....

Dear XXXXX,

Unfortunately, in this case, probably there was a moment, when the Gateway did not get power during the update procedure.
If the LED is off and you cannot get power from the USB port of the device, probably you need a replacement device.
If the Gateway is still under warranty, then please make contact with the reseller where you purchased the device.

Thank you for contacting us. Best regards,

HeyRock I wonder if you can purge the current code and upload a clean version? This could rid the current unit of any bad code

Hi Jako....

Yes, Thanks. My problem is the unit totally died....it will not read anything or even light up. See above the steps I tried....I have to think there is a way to reflash/bench flash the device? That has to be how they load the ROM at the factory? I asked if they could do that or even just sell me the box....but have not heard back yet.

If I could interact with it I could try more....but it just went dormant. Really sucks. Fortunately the car is up on my lift as I am upgrading the intercoolers....So I can be a little patient until they arrive

Looks like your gonna have a blast with the mods your are doing. Just in case. You checked the fuse right? I sourced power from the passenger footwell power socket. And that has its own fuse to the main panel. Might be worth a try.

Yes....Thanks Jako.....I wish it was. That was one of the first things I checked....and even used my multimeter to be sure the socket and unit had power. It would have been great if that was it!

DC....can you reach out via email?

eric@bumperplugs.com

Not sure where you got the unit, but might want to have you try a couple things.

Sure will Eric. Always appreciate your help and expertise. I did all the items you suggested before (earlier this year) and had better performance. I will ping you later today via email.

To date, even after my follow up response, Dension's position is to buy a new unit because this one is dead? I even asked if I could send it back to them to bench flash the ROM...Assuming they would do that at factory when new? Or offered to just buy the main box from them....thinking they may cut me a break for their Firmware killing my unit....so far crickets

Again, thanks for your attempt to help. Dension should pay you royalties, because without you being the ambassador you are and offering to help they would likely not be selling any units!

Kudos to you buddy!

Enfig has them for $450.00. Just in case nothing else works out, at least you can save some coin. I would ask Eric if he could do something he is super.

Thanks Al....

Going to keep my fingers crossed that Eric may be able to help me out....If not I may bypass the unit and see if I can use the connector port to just charge USB items since I went through all the trouble of mounting it so neatly in the top of the glove box

Otherwise, as I said, I will likely just remove it from the loop, reconnect my CD Changer, and have a caustic fire with plastic Dension unit.

If I do decide to buy again (Long Shot!), I will likely buy from Eric since he has been so helpful with no skin in the game...

Happy Holidays!

Apologies for dragging up an old thread - I'm looking at getting this unit & want to know if all the bugs are now fixed with the latest firmware. Quite a lot of complaints in this thread but as this thread is a couple of months old is everyone happy with the 0057 firmware update?

If not, any other similar product recommended (I use Windows Phone)? Thx,

I would say NO!!!!

I would say if you are going to buy one ....definitely buy from Eric at Bumperplugs. I did not buy from him....and Dension has sucked as a company to deal with...BUT...Eric has spent months helping get my issues resolved by pressuring the Dension leadership....Again...I did not even buy my unit from him and he has been extremely helpful!!!

I cannot say anything good about Dension. I shipped mine to Eric....then paid to have him ship to Hungary....and he was able to get Dension to reflash it for me after it died during a firmware upgrade....That started in November....hope to have it back soon?

But nothing against Eric....Buy from him as he will do his best to take care of you!!

Good luck,
DC

Also, does anyone know if this unit supports aptX Bluetooth audio streaming (not just A2DP which isn't very hifi - aptX is a variation of A2DP but streams with higher quality)?
