Several hours ago I have test my 997.2 turbo s cabrio with race logic, and I have find some magic numbers, my car is FULLY STOCK and run 98RON, best time for 100-200 I have 6.3 I don't believe in this numbers and try to race with Lamborgini huracan, but results was amazing, from 60km/h to 250 cars run same, I can not understand how this possible. We have test huracan too, best time for 100-200 was 6.3 usual 6.5.

Tomorrow want install plenum and GIAC tune

 

So is that bad or good? Huracan have more or less the same performace than our TT's

 

This is good, but I don't understand how this possible, because stock turbo s cabrio run about 7.5 seconds and huracan much faster stock turbo s, but my car run 6,3 and run same with lambo

Wow these are pretty quick cars. Don't think they will let me run at a drag strip since its a convertible? I'm guessing bone stock these are faster than the rules allow without a cage. Will have to pick up a Vbox.

 

You need a cage <10.0 seconds ET or >135 trap
I see convertibles racing all the time.

 

Hey Chris, Nice meeting you at The Shop. Yeah, I will never put a cage in a Porsche. Just not worth it. I would rather go to a track rental where most fast street cars go without cages.

Just looked up the 2014 NHRA rules, and found this. Looks like roll bar 11-13.5 and a cage under 11's?

Roll bar mandatory in all cars (including T-tops) running 11.00 (*7.00) to 11.49 (*7.35), in convertibles running 11.00 (*7.00) to 13.49 (*8.25), and in all dune-buggy-type vehicles running 12.00 (*7.50) seconds and slower. Permitted in all cars. See General Regulations 4:10, 10:6.
ROLL CAGE
Roll cage mandatory in cars running 10.99 (*6.99) or quicker or any car exceeding 135 mph. In full-bodied cars, with unaltered firewall, floor, and body (from firewall rearward, wheeltubs permitted), running between 10.00 (*6.40) and 10.99 (*6.99), roll bar permitted in place of roll cage. In convertibles running 10.99 or quicker or exceeding 135 mph, roll cage mandatory. Cars running between 7.50 (*4.50) and 9.99 (*6.39) must have chassis recertified every three years by NHRA and have a serialized sticker affixed to cage before participation. Plating of chassis prohibited for all cars manufactured after Jan. 1, 2003. Rear- engine dragsters must conform to SFI Spec 2.7B; vehicles running 8.49 (*5.35) to 7.50 (*4.50) and/or exceeding 180 mph must meet appropriate SFI Spec for body used.
