2009 Porsche GT2

Hey Jorge congrats on the GT2 and welcome to the Porsche club. After seeing your UGR Lambo Im afraid of what power you are gonna put down. BTW This is Peter the guy who helped film your car at Shift S3ctor last year. I meant to text you but I see youre back in Canada and probably changed your number.

Wont be going crazy power on this car. Full bolt on is more than enough for me for the time being.

Congrats!
I guess I'm the owner of the other Metallic Basalt Black GT2 in Canada!
Do yourself a favor and take it to the track. Its a brute on the street but on a track is where it finesses (and eats tires)...254kmh!!!
Mine is a 2008. No nav, CD changer or decorative carbon (adds weight anyways).
Only mod so far is a GMG Ti exhaust...15 pound lighter and awesome sound
Have fun and be careful...

Hey! How do you like that pipe? I went with the Europipe stage 2. Sound is very nice but it weighs about 25 lbs more than the stock Akropovic. I gave about $4,400 for it. Mind if I ask what yours cost? Did you notice any handling change by taking 20 lbs off the very rearmost point of the car?

The high flow cats sets of the CEL that I turn off with my Durametrics. I am going to cure it once and for all this coming spring with a Cobb tune (no I am not shilling them, it's the only tune that I've seen actual results with real before and after verifiable dyno sheets)
Oh, I also replaced the stock battery with a Braille clone. I keep a maintainer on it when I'm parked at home. It saves almost 40 pounds.
As far as feeling any difference with the decrease in weight out back...no, I can't feel the difference but I'm not Patrick Long. God and Porsche shod the rears with 325's and voodoo magic to keep the sheetmetal straight

I know what you mean about our technical principles not allowing us to do anything that adds weight. I had reservations about the long-term durability of the GMG titanium pipe. Will be interested in hearing how it does for you. The same goes for the Cobb tune. Please be sure to let me know how it drives. I have good experiences with the AP on a 2004 STi I have.
The engineer in me won't allow the substitution of a part that will add weight to a car. Its a matter of physics. I got the exhaust off a member here for $3500 (I see the look on your face...) The gain was max 13HP with 94 octane Chevron pump gas. 457RWHP on a non-BS Mustang dyno. Don't believe everything you read on the 'net.
