What are people paying for custom tunes
As title states ....after reading many reviews I don't think you can beat alpha intercooler kit...want to attach that to a custom tune to dial the car in together ..(always had canned tunes ).. For basic bolt ons what are tunes going for..and how much time would be needed to dial this car in....

Protuning freaks has a great deal on custom tunes. Lots of tuners in our network can get you dialed in.
I would say contact them or shoot me an email happy to help in anyway I can.

Depends on your situation. If your exhaust breaths better, you may be entitled to a better tune, I'm not the expert on this though. Only have advice from prior tune experience.
Makes sense to me though, backpressure, airflow, ignition are a few of the elements that I considered during my tune.

Those OTS maps are still leaving more power to be had by custom tuning, PTF will find more power (or whomever you buy the AP from).
But spending $ on an exhaust and a good set of IC's enables stage2 maps (same as the stage1's preloaded in the AP)

Sure there is stage1 maps preloaded into the Cobb AP and you chose based on fuel quality.

So called canned (OTS) maps are great all around performers that really wake the car up even in its stock hardware form. Adding aftermarket breathing modifications, such as an exhaust, intercoolers, plenum, ypipe will completely transform the car going with higher stage OTS maps.
As with any off the shelf tune they're made to perform as well as they can in a wide variety of conditions while staying a little on the conservative side given octane and modification level to account for variability out there. Its analogous to what OEMs provide out of the factory with a given minimum octane rating in mind.
However, for performance enthusiasts who're interested in getting the most out of their particular setup we provide custom tuning to ensure their particular configuration is optimized for to its fullest given its specific modifications, octane, ambients, driver needs/goals, etc. Every car is slightly different. Not everyone has the same needs when it comes to drivability, throttle mappings, and aftermarket hardware on the car can be quite different when it comes to its performance when looked at as an overall system. We also provide custom tuning for VTG upgrades, alternative fuels such as E85, race gas, meth injection as well as custom aftermarket turbos with more conventional non-VTG wastegate setups (e.g. Tial Alpha 28s, 30s, Garret GT/GTX turbos, etc), larger injectors, MAF vs. MAF-less setups, etc.
With a Cobb AP on the car we're able to provide our tuning services to anyone in any part of the World and not just cars that are local to us and we've been doing that successfully for the past few years. Cobb AP makes this process really easy and quick for both the customer and us tuning the car.
Any questions at all I'm happy to discuss and you can PM us on here or email me directly at dzenno@protuningfreaks.com to go over any details you might need clarification on. You can also get a hold of us on our website on our live chat.

Personally, I would not run a tuned car without a proper free-flow exhaust and cats at a minimum. The tune basically means more fuel, more air, more boost, more compression, more power, more back pressure and MORE HEAT! Unless there is a way to scavenge that out the exhaust, you shouldn't be surprised if you experience problems. Now, for street use or perhaps even 10 second passes at the strip, things may be fine. Take it to a road track where you will be running WOT for more than 50% of a 20-30 minute session multiple times a day and it will eventually take a toll. Perhaps the car will save itself and revert to limp mode which is a pita or perhaps it will experience a catastrophic failure which is a major pitwallet! I wish someone would have given me this advice years ago.....Good luck!

After driving a full Bolton custom tuned turbo..there is no other way..car leaps off the line and the throttle is just snappier....pretty exited about going this route...if money is a object as I'm sure it always is..yes you can just tune and exaust...but to do it the right way full bolt on custom tune is the way to go..
