TheRock's 997.1 TT Silicon Intake Duct DIY Guide
OK Guys,
I installed my new do88 Silicon Intake Ducts/Pipes that I purchased from ProTuningFreaks. Great service and price BTW! At the request of some of you, I thought I would document and help others as in the past.
If you have a better way to do it...Knock yourself out. I created this DIY and put in the time in the spirit of helping my fellow enthusiasts.
Good luck to you all. I wrote up the process that has a lot of items removed from the car. You remove whatever works for you. I always prefer to remove as much as possible to avoid damage and make it easier (less frustrating) to work on...I know some prefer to remove the bare minimum....So do what works for you
Certainly, if you see opportunities to help others, or tips please post here for others.
Again, I host these on my personal web server, so if it gets a lot of traffic, it may flake out....so just try again until it works.

Enjoy, and let me know if it helps....

That is great! Hope it helps you out. I obviously cannot tell much on the new Intercoolers yet as it was 16 degrees for my test drive .....But the IAT looked good!
I notice a real difference with those intake ducts though. It feels really faster through the whole rev and gear range. It is definitely breathing well....Feels potent. I think you will like them and notice a difference.
A few problems I have....
1 - I have new tires in my garage attic waiting for spring and mine are pretty low on tread.
2 - It is very cold and the car runs even better and hard cold roads and tires do not allow me to get traction. And if I turn off PSM the car is all over the place!
3 - And last, it seems because of the above, when I nail my car in the winter it sounds awful...some popping sound in the drive-train. Took to dealer before and they felt it was the awd differential trying to do traction control with all the wheels slipping. I believe them because a dealer is not going to pass the chance to charge me, and I never hear it in the summer...only when it freezes??
Anyway...Running like a beast!
Good luck!

I'm sure it will help a lot. I'm not looking forward to tearing it apart again after just doing the plugs. I may wait until the weather is crappy so I can do the hoses and intercoolers at the same time.
From what I have read it takes some time before the ecu adjusts to the changes you have done so it should get even better.
The cars do like this cold air though.

Perfect time to do them. If you are thinking of running E85, it is a great time to drop in some injectors too.

Thanks Guys...Good luck to you..and I hope it helps. Tried to include a bunch of pics and process. I always do everything myself, so some things are hard to get a picture of and do at the same time!

Hi There....
Thanks. Yes, I do feel like it makes a notable difference. The car just feels like it is breathing better. What I notice is when you punch it it just takes off like a bullet and keeps on accelerating. With the stock Ducts, it would hit a mid point where it "seemed" to be hesitant / choking a bit...That has smoothed out and it just seems like there is no end to it accelerating...Except that there are police around
Definitely worth the upgrade! And ProTuningFreaks have a great product and very good pricing on these. They also get them to you pretty darn quick!
