Longboarder at 1/3 Mile Roll-On Event 1/24/15 Shift Sector

I guess anything is possible. But a GIAC tune would first have to be loaded up into the AP before it could be uploaded to the ECU.
Cool thanks! I hope you enjoyed the run against the 997.1
I don't daily this car. It's not very comfortable with the Ohlins R&T coils and the R888 tires.

I asked the question of loading another tune (Protomotive in my case) with Cobb and I was told no. When the Cobb downloads the program in the ECU it "locks" that program.
To get a GIAC tune you have to send your ECU to them to flash it so they may also put some sort of encryption on the ECU as well that a simple flashloader cant process.

PenguiN is in the US so presumably he can find a GIAC retailer close by so he wouldn't have to send in the ECU. I see you are in Germany and not sure if there are any GIAC retailers near you.
But that concept of loading multiple vendor tunes into portable device is certainly plausible. These tuners would need to agree on a neutral device. I wouldn't think there is enough demand to make this a reality.

Great video as always Longboarder. Thanks. The car looks to be running very well.
My ECU was flashed with GIAC software and I simply wiped it out when I went with Cobb. Flashed right over it with their canned stage 2 before I started working with PTF on the custom flash I have now.

No, you don't. Before you flash the Cobb software, it asks you if you want to download and save the current flash in your ECU. If you do that, when you uninstall the AP, it flashes back whatever you had in the computer before hand. In my case I wasn't interested in keeping the GIAC software, so I simply over wrote it and continued on my way.

At the moment i am having some clutch issues ... at times it wont let me get out of gear. The manufacturer of the triple disc clutch knows about the issue and has agreed to fix the issue - I hope this time they get it right as it has come in and out 4 times already ..this is gonna be 5th.
car has never been dyno'ed; it has enough HW to at least to make the 900 (prob. even 1100ish) whp but i dont see it either. I am gonna look at a few small things first .. like fuel filter and boost leaks etc.. if all checks out .. hit up Mr Todd K and figure out why it is carrying 18 degrees to red line on e85 when i was making mid 20s on pump and meth ..
Austin - thank you - I still have an B5 S4 that will give any of the cars in longboarders' vid a good run for their $$$... no shifting issues on that one. Cheers and hello to Garrett and Andrew !!! Been a while

Anthony, that's was Ari running his car. I think Adam and him did a 2nd gear roll in this race. When Ari and I ran we came out of the hole in 3rd gear and I always sat on his rear bumper at the finish line. Ari is packing 3586 and I am on Alpha28's. Low gear smaller turbos always spool faster.

Hah, you as well I'm enjoying them both. The M3 really is a blast. So much fun that I haven't even modified the power yet and I've had a JB4 sitting here for months.

ari is running e85 tune, do you think he will be faster with methanol
"Ari is an old school street racer and, unless he has lost his mojo, can drive with the best of them.
Longboarder, nice runs as always! I can't wait to see what the beast will do with a fully functioning methanol system. "
