I don't drag anymore.. Once you get close to 1000mph or over 100on the water drags... Are so tame.
Needing a helmet to drive a boat or a jet is way cooler.
I think you guys need to step back and realize that it's a car. You don't know why your builder did what he did.
You just know he did it.
All of this is a mute point why. No one does anything but rebuilds a 997 tt tranny and they aren't going too.
Strap an aftermarket if you wana over 1300 or be able to rebuild more often.

LOL Boats are fun but holy **** you spam every thread with ignorance now that I look at recent post...
And some of us do our own work as well... Go do some research on who you try to school. Matt (Swole Powell) and I have our own personal shop with a Dynojet 248, multiple lifts, etc... so I know exactly what we need and if I don't I talk to the builders.

Mark one thing not sure if you have talked to Bill R. lately but he told me awhile back for Matt's car that soon they would have drop in gears for a standard 997.1TT trans (non GT2) but I haven't checked back in awhile since we are waiting Matt's out to see how long it last lol.

by drag you do mean dress up? cuz you dont sound like you know anything about dragracing
you are the one that needs to step back and realize you barked up the wrong tree.
i do , cuz i did
every point you made in this thread is a mute point.
yes i saw that and laughed . i did not respond to him there out of respect for Emres truly important accomplishment.
Chris, he can call me stupid all he wants and tell me how far he's been, but in Porsche world he's got a long way to go from making ecu tune threads and yelling about "RPR" lines loose to joining us in the big leagues.

No, we haven't made them yet. It has only been in the last few months that the market on these has started to mature. I've given samples to my engineer, but there are several more lucrative projects upstream of them. Realistically I don't expect to have them until sometime in the summer.

This is literally the most entertaining thread I've seen on 6speed yet. I gotta hand it to you Prodigymb, touche, rebuttals are on point haha. I don't squat realizes that Powell and Prodigymb have probably some of the fastest cars on this forum and have contributed more hands-on knowledge on this forum than most have....

This was a pretty difficult thread for me to follow since I've had Squat on ignore for several months now.
I'm very interested in this topic, there doesn't seem to be a very good solution to this except a 996 transmission with GT2 parts in the 997.
I do remember the Switzer 'Sledgehammer' car when he brought it to Dallas. It was a 6 speed, and made 900+ to the tires for quite a long time. I'm not sure who owns it now, but I think it is still going strong actually.

2nd gear pop out can be remedy by a small ball bearing,.

Time to bring it back!
960 awhp on 997tt box, more soon (waiting for parts to arrive).
I'm between upgrading a 996 box or seeing just how far the 997 will go.
Tires aren't sticky and I don't launch it, but it pulls hard in 3rd.
Found an older post from Steve K Ny, stating that the 997tt trans had a "triple carbon coating" on all the gears for strength.
Any new info is good!
