997.1 TT Project in Ashburn garage

I purchased a 997.1 TT back in March the same day my 4th daughter was born. New baby in the house and garage was great.

But I can't keep it stock for long. Didn't like the look of stock ride height, So I first purchase a set of GMG Springs and gunmetal avant Garde wheels just to give it a nice unique look.

Then oem clutch started to slip which is perfect timing since I planned on a Sachs Stage 2 clutch before I did any mods anyway. This was the old clutch

When I purchased the car, I noticed a slight coolant seep from the waterpump but got bad pretty quick. Tackled it on Saturday but since I'm in there, might as well do thermostat, plugs and coils. Currently on order. Until then this is how she sits

I'm also changing this exhaust to a Kline

Waterpump installed and waiting for additional parts for completion.

Next phase: Intercooler removal to gain access to plugs

Thanks Sam! The little one is keeping me busy which slows down my car hobby a little. Will be taking pics of the new Kline exhaust soon. I can't believe how heavy the OEM exhaust is compared to the Kline

Can't wait to fire it up. :-)

How's it coming? I was able to do my plugs without lowering the engine, however haha the next day I pulled the engine so all that knuckle banging was for fun.

Ha. Practice makes perfect. Well still waiting for some parts to be delivered. Waited to order all parts I may need last minute to save on shipping cost. Will tackle it by this weekend. I'm following Rock88s guide so I don't reinvent the wheel. I'm also OCD so I want to detail the engine while I have access to it. :-)

Yes. Transmission has to come down but engine needs to be supported at the tranny side

Had about an hour of garage time before dinner and took off intercooler and hoses. Coils and plugs arrived today but still waiting for thermostat, hoses, belt etc.

I did notice oil on the bottom hose of the intercooler. Anyone know if that's normal?

A little is normal from what I understand.. I had a light film on my left side hose when I did my plugs last winter.. If it drips oil then you may have a leaky turbo..

Plugs and coils are easy from this point..
