My stock 19" centerlocks have R888's for racing so I'm thinking about another wheel/tire combo to put on just for driving around town. Can the centerlocks from the 991 Turbo or 991 GTS fit the 997 Turbo? I would definitely have them painted black as I'm not thrilled about the chrome/black look. Thanks! EDIT: GMG had an extra set lying around and installed them for me this morning. They fit almost EXACTLY the same as the stock 997.2 centerlocks. The front wheel was nearly flush with the fender but the rear was set in about an inch, which I do not like. Here's pics:

Nah can only run centerlocks. If the 991 Turbo centerlocks don't fit I've been set on HRE P101's for a while.

Don't think it will work for you because you can't use spacers. I think the rear offsets are too large, i.e. too far in. Double check.

So does that mean the 991 wheels will not sit flush? Instead they will be set in too far? You are right, we cannot use spacers.

Yep, they will be in too far. Out of my own curiosity I checked. Weird, but the turbo wheels have offsets of 56 and the GTS wheels have offsets of 52. So the GTS wheels should work, but won't be very aggressive and the turbo wheels could work if they don't create inboard clearance issues. Neither will have a very aggressive look and you can't fix it with spacers.

If the GTS or 991 Turbo fits the 997TT, then you can space it out with a combination of upper and lower adjustable control arms, along with Tarett's 15mm axle spacers for the rears.

I do have the rear end links and I guess they could be pushed out but that would negatively impair the handling of the car, according to GMG.

Thanks so much for checking. So what is the offset of our stock centerlock 997 wheels?

It should not, according to Tarret and Elephant Racing, as you are effectively spacing out the offsets just like any other aftermarket rims, but in a different way with the addition of 15mm axle spacers, in conjunction with the adjustable arms, which will correct cambers and casters.

Also, your end links will be able to push it out 10 mm, which I believe was what you had done before? It is probably the extent of which your axle can handle without breaking. That's why the 15mm axle spacers are safer bet.

You are correct my end links were extended by 10mm. However I was having some handling issues and went to GMG for help. Their recommendation was to reset the end link length to stock and align properly. It made a nice difference. Mostly because my alignment and steering wheel weren't set right (my suspension setup also includes Ohlins R&T, GMG front and rear sways, tarett drop links and GMG front bump/toe steer). The suspension feels incredible to me now and really don't want to do any further changes. If I have to push out the rear wheel to sit flush by extending the end links and/or axle spacers I will probably pass and pick another wheel since I'm so happy with the suspension right now. If the 991 centerlocks don't fit I'm gonna go all out with some 20" P101s yummy.

Understood, but could the handling issues be due to incorrect alignment and steering wheel centering, rather than offsets?

Stock rear offsets are 51mm, but everyone always wants to go more aggressive ;-) .
