Seem's like there's a million different options for track people but what about folks who have high HP and don't track their cars. Are they sticking with OEM pads/rotors?
also, what are good places to order from? Seems like unless you go with Pagid or Hawks you have a hell of a time finding places to order from.
I'm considering Endless MX72's or Ferodo 2500. Just looking for something more aggressive for street without all the compromising aspects of track pads.

apex performance carries ferodo, pagid, pfc and has good pricing (search for the RL discount code). Ferodo 2500 would be a good intermediate choice I think, I am thinking of trying them on our car next.

PFC and Hawk make nice street pads. Girodisc makes awesome rotors. Stainless brake lines are also a nice upgrade.

Which PFC compound? I was looking at the 08's and they seem track oriented.

I run on street+track Brembo type 3 rotors (look like the Girodiscs but by Brembo) + ss brake lines + Pagid RS29.
They need a little warm to give their best, the initial bite is better than stock but not as nice as the PCCBs and the whole braking power from >250kph seems to me better than the PCCBs.

OEM Brembo calipers, 380 AP racing fully floating 72 vane rotors, Enless RF650 fluid, PFC 08 pads, GT3 Cup brake ducting. You can hammer this all day long at the track with zero fade.
For street, I'd stick with OEM pads or OEM GT3 pads. Endless MX72 is a great dual purpose pad. I would not run PFC on the street if it's a daily use car. PFCs will eat the rotors quickly as there is no way to get enough heat into them on the street. OEM pads are more than enough if you have good ducting.

I did Carbotech XP8 F/R and the rest was left OEM, even the brake fluid, never had any problems on the street and had solid braking. Having more metal in the brake pads wont be very pleasant as they get noisy especially on hot days/nights. I did Ferodo ds2500 on my built engine gt-r and they are awesome for street and higher power. Added some AP Racing rotors in the meantime but really no need of those for street imo.
After 2-3 sessions at the track with the 996tt had to switch to Castrol SRF to avoid boiling the brakes. That would be minimal mods I see for occasional track - pads and fluids, but oem rotors wont keep to long

How does this setup handle the occasional hpde track day?

Perfectly. It's probably one of the most versatile setups. Honestly, it's something that we recommend to track drivers, but if you choose the milder of the Pagid pads, it's great for higher HP street cars too. We've also used PFC pads on this same rotor setup with good success too.

I have a 996tt but if I can ever find a decent set of stock 997 tt calipers for a good price. This is the setup I will be going to. 380mm bbk kit using stock calipers.

We can build a complete brake system with RB track duty calipers that use the same pads as GTR/CTS-V/MB C63 etc. with good choice in compound and cheaper in price than Porsche calipers.

Hard anodized finish - The most favorable finish by GTR track racers, for a lasing beauty of consistent finish (color).
