997.1 TT Appreciating
#16
Yeah, I really, really like my 997T. Typically my MO is to switch cars every 2-3 years or so, but this one is a keeper (manual too!). I slap on the OEM rims with winter tires and it's a blast. I've decided to see if I can make it to over 100k miles it it. (I am currently at 57.5k). With this recent decision of keeping the car I'm trying to add some things just to make the driving even more pleasant (new steering wheel on order, fix some small dings, got red seatbelts installed last week, etc.)

You mean a 997.1.5 which has pcm 3 and mezger engine but no gen 2 body mods.

There is no 997.1.5 or 997.2 turbo in 2009.
It's a 997.1 with one unimportant difference , a newer (now also obsolete) navigation system.
I used to think the PCM3 update for 2009 would make the car stand out in the collectors and enthusiast market but here in EU this is absolutely not the case.
Sure, it's a nice bonus but prices show there is no significant difference between 07/08 and 09.
In fact, miles(km) and options make a bigger difference.
As an example a 07/08 PCCB car is more desired than a steel brake 09 given same miles and condition.
I know several people looking for a clean lower miles mezger turbo and the navi system does not come in to play at all.
Sport chrono, manual, clean original paint car (and for some PCCB) is what they are after.
Myself, I searched for a 2009 but I did not want to compromise on the options so I eventually 'settled' for a 2008 with everything I wanted and could not be happier.

Exactly this

It's great being humurous better than being all serious and miserable
Also I think the 1.5 personally is a very logical explanation in pointing people in the right direction of a 2009 gen 1 turbo with pcm 3 no face lift!

Sorry you guys are right. The only reason I said a 2009 was for the stereo upgrade with XM built in. I had to add an aftermarket external for my '07 997TT. Either way you can't go wrong with an 07-09 997TT in my humble opinion.

I agree!
