Based on my curiosity, I did several test. Since the wife's car was too wide, I couldn't drive up with the two wheels on one lift so I drove up on the two together in parallel. From a dead drop, no go with car weight. It definitely needs 1 inches of upward movement before lifting vehicle weight. These barely fit underneath my lowered car with an inch or less clearance between the block and lift points and lifted the car with no issues. Perhaps if anyone needs to drop below the last locking point, they can weld an additional locking bar on the tray.

Problem is, if you weld an new locking point, still no gurantee it can get itself up from there. As they told me, below the first locking point...it starts losing stregnth rapidly.
PS...now put coil overs on and TechArt side skirts and then getting it under there is quite a challenge.

My ezcarlift.com will raise from zero but it is using a screw drive and not hydro. Nothing to fail but the welds. Again, not for everyone because of the weight limit but awesome for the 911.

Yes definitely. Main reason I got it with the Adaptors. Someone with a 996TT on one of the forums has done it. You have to initially raise it and set on race ramps, then continue with additional height either the adapters

Thanks for posting...the exact lift I need!

The apparent short span between lift points on the EZcarlift scares me from a previous incident I witnessed (probably my paranoia if it's using all four lift jack points if that's what those locations are designed for).
When working at a major auto repair shop I saw one of the tire bay guys lift up a VW vanagon for 4 new tire installs. When he took off the two front wheels first the van rotated over backwards falling off the lift due to the engine being behind the rear axle.

That being said you always want to lift the car to the lowest point you need. No need to be 2 foot in the air to change tires.

$800ish? I've been looking for one. One on ebay just went for $1300. If you got it for half off, great grab!
