Here are part numbers for everything. Disregard the brake air guides and center caps.

nice clean work! I am really dreading this...ehh... finally got to the point where Im gonna just do it.

What made you decide between welding vs pinning?

Sharkwerks recommends pinning vs welding on their website so Im now trying to decide on that.

Also just to keep the down time (my own shop) to a min.. im wondering what else fails so this will be an all in all out scenario one time.

With no stops, how long did it take to get the motor out? Did you work solo?

thanks

Motor come in and out fast can get out in 2-3 hours no prob but I have done a lot of them. My pipes were getting a little crusty so the pinning will keep them from falling out but no leaking, so that is why I would always weld them. Taking the motor all apart to get parts off to weld is more work than removing the motor. If you dropped and pinned them that would be fast.
I changed everything on mine that would ever fail, with new water pump, hoses, tstat, etc. So I would charge around 25-30 hours to weld the pipes for a customer and replace all that stuff.

Pinning can largely be done with the engine intact. A good amount of labor is required to get to the oil cooler / exchanger to do the Sharkwerks elbows (lots needs to come off the top).

To weld them in,.. you need to remove the entire rear cover of the engine,.. and clean it. So engine mount comes off,. etc, etc.

Then the welding itself is tricky as the metals are different and of very different thicknesses. So you'll need to find an outstanding welder to have it be neat and leak free.

To make that a LOT easier and less likely to leak,.. Torque Solutions makes replacement6 tubes from machined aluminum. I bought those for my car,.. but after hearing the amount of work and cost involved,.. decided to just pin them and do the Sharkwerks elbows. I'm not likely to be doing lots of track days in mine.

I have them for sale if you're interested. http://rennlist.com/forums/parts-mar...t3-mezger.html

Well drove the car 700 miles this week, no issues. Went to the woodward dream cruise in detroit and ran he 1/8 mile on the street. Was a total cluster as I figured but was a good time Went 6.8 at 105mph so should be able to get some low 10s in the quarter. Gonna take to the track later this month so Ill post some times and videos.
