The tiptronic transmission will hold 1000 Nm / 740 ftlb all day. You need to modify the TCU in order to make use of that torque, but the transmission itself is pretty reliable and can take a lot of abuse.

Good to know! He should be fine then at his current power level. I wish I could modify the TCU on my 996 Turbo!

No need to do so. No torque limiter, only rev limiter. Shifting times could be optimized though

I'd like to max out the capability of what the alpha 9 kit can put down, but do not want to get into building the motor. So whatever the car can safely handle without bending a rod is where I want to be. I understand that no matter what that can still happen, however want to stay within the limits of what is considered a safe zone and see what happens. At the end of the day you are playing with fire one way or another, so anything can happen, I get that.

NoJoke is on a distinguished road
I'm looking into going the same route also with a tiptronic. With that magnitude of a kit how beneficial would a proEFI or Syvecs ecu be? I believe Syvecs controls the TCU as well and might be more tiptronic friendly.

Is there a reason you went alpha 9 ? Upgraded vtg's will give you the same power. I am sure alpha 9 will make a bit more on pump gas but then again most people who move away from VTGs build the motor+ and turn the power way up.

AMS makes a good product, relatively complete and no real need to start swapping out parts down the road for larger more capable ones.

Gives me room to grow easily. Do I want to turn the hp way up, yes who doesn't? But I don't want to build a motor, in the event I'm faced with that decision at least I know 1000hp isn't that far away.

Alpha 9 always makes me say, "Why not the Alpha 10?" Yes, labor is the largest part with rod exchange ect.

But hey, you could use the excuse, "while your in there."

I absolutely love the Alpha kits! They are just works of art with OEM and better quality!

With amazing built quality like it was from the factory, these packages can run 5.9 ON PUMP what well put together and tuned VTG'S run on E85!!

On E85 or even pump and METH these AMS packages ON STOCK ENGINES run 5.2(PTF'S car on pump and METH) - 4.8 (Prodgymb) 60-130!!! All that performance on stock engine with room to grow with a built motor!

If I wanted to put more $$ in my car I want a AMS package in my car!

In the mean time I run E85 all the time on my 63.5m VTG'S And it does the job until the time for a AMS package!

Car is a daily driver, will be tuned for 93 octane as that's readily available up here. I know more hp can be made by other fuels but not in the market with that as I'm driving this car year around as much as I possibly can. Car is getting ecu tuned not Cobb by Magnus. Will see how it goes, need to flash the computer first for 1000cc injectors and start the car make sure everything went fine with the re and re of motor and install of the Alpha parts, then dyno tuned hopefully early next week.
