Boost Leak Test 997.2

I've researched 6Speed & the internet but can't seem to find any
specific testing instructions for a 997.2. With the long winter almost behind us, I've been reading through a bevy of posts & thought it would be advantageous to perform a boost leak test on my 2010 tt.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to ensure I conduct the test appropriately?
Turboboostleaktesters.com has a nice product which appears should work - anyone ever use this one? - I'd rather purchase vs. build one from PVC. Unfortunately they don't offer any instructions or videos.

Thanks,

Brett

You will need something like this, I've made these as the pvc ones wont hold high boost ...

Simply put the car on a lift, disconnect both boost hoses xoming off the compressor housing, pressurise and look for leaks.

A local indy also has a piece that fits the plenum to check post throttle leaks.

We find leaks on almost every car, good luck .

PVC will work fine. Understand if you choose not to use it....But I pressure tested the PVC's in my DIY, and your IC tanks will blow up long before the PVC tester fails.

Just FYI...

PS...The ones in the picture above look very nice, and def better than PVC.

Yes...Pretty much same set up. The y pipe on the .2 has a couple of additional hoses, but process is the same.

Good luck...

i suggest to zip tighten all your vacuum/boost lines before you do the pressure boost leak,or they will pop out during the test.

Are there any photos or information available which outline exact lines / hoses which require zip ties?

I would just pull the two turbo outlets then plug one and pressurize the other.Anything from there up should be able to hold boost pressure. If it doesn't then thats a problem.
