recall deletes GIAC?

I took my car in for an oil change recently, when i came back to pick up my car they said they also did a mandatory recall reflash or something i forgot. I was wondering if this would mean that i do not have the GIAC software on my car anymore?

Most likely it's been overwritten...they will usually do a reflash for you for like $50. Some shops will do it for free.

Perfect excuse to order the Softronic flash - no comparison to GIAC. The recall was one of my many justifications for ordering the Softronic. I hate spending money twice on the same type of mod, but it turned out to be well worth it.The performance I now get from the Softronic blows the doors off what I was getting from my GIAC..

When I took my car in for the service a few days ago, they performed the recall, but in the process DME locked up and they had to replace it... i wonder if issues like that occur with Softronic flashes. Anyone heard of this with factory, GIAC, or Softronic flashes? I've heard many sing the praises of Softronic here, but are there any dyno results between Softronic and GIAC?

on a NA car I'd love to see how one ECU tune blows the door of another. No butt dyno's please. Im just a bit skeptical is all.

i had the giac flash done on my car, along with a custom mapping, but i have nothing to compare it to other than being stock prior to the install. i've noticed my car is more "snappy" and i feel more torque at 5-6K rpms and in 2nd gear. oh, and i got my best autox time after the install was done! woohoo! =D
