A friend of mine did it in under 30 minutes. Cluster removal is fairly easy, as well as removing the cluster faceplate. I can ask him for some tips if you like.

115- Gauge cluster removal instructions have been posted here on Renntech: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index...0&#entry114651 (requires login to read article - so sign up, it's free and a great site! $20 will get you full access to TSB's etc, money well spent) .
To stop the rattling, line the bottom and corner edges of cluster and the rear clips with some felt tape.
These felt parts can be obatined from Porsche, just have the parts rep look up the pieces referenced in the TSB "997 9 22-05 Noise In / Near Instrument Cluster".

Surprisingly simple, thank you for chasing down the instructions.
now if ONLY I could find some experienced instruction on removing the needles!! I do know it is not the same as the 996.

This might be a dumb question, but can you order the colored gauge faces from a porsche dealer? Reason being, I want red gauges in my car, but I am not to fond of the aftermarket faces with the "heinz" logo in the speedometer.

so how did you do it at the end? do they just pull out? -
- got instructions from gemballa, needls just pull off. put them to zero before you do so that when you reinstall you know where they should point
Thanks for posting buddy- so they just pull straight off? no turn and pull or anything funky?

you can get other colors (go to porsche web site and look at options in car configurator) they cost a fortune

. just as a disclaimer i did it on Cayenne 2009. I would assume it is the same on other models/(recent years). First dial them to the left till stop (0 or whatever it shows on the dial) that way you know at what position to put them back. then pull off. when you plug dash back it will make strange sound for a bout 2 sec. that is normal.
