Hey Alex...sorry it took so long for my response. I am very interested in this system...the only issue is that I will have this C4S for one year and then be trading it for the TURBO PDK...So Im not sure how much more investment I should put into this car...Maybe just the x pipe and or software...could I sell it back for at least half or something? I dont know...just thinking out loud.

Also, a sidenote: I brought mine to the shop yesterday. I currently have no mods on it and 2200 miles or so. I was driving in regular mode and the tranny just acted as if it was in neutral...engine on...revving...no action with the tranny...engine light came on...stayed in 6th gear...I rolled to a stop on the side of the road...Shut it off a few times. Totally weird...started it up...put in gear...nothing? Then finally I got it to "GO" and drove it to the shop. They had to reset the computer. The sales manager is driving it today for me to make sure I have no other issues....Weird though.
Anything like that happen to you....In certainly not complaining about the PDK.

So about my possible purchases...let me know...thanks again.

Hi D and at least you're out there and driving Glad you've got some miles on it... To me it sounds exactly like the transmission jumped straight into limp mode (due to some sort of fault) and that's what it was like that. I've been there during dyno testing myself hehe. See if you can find out what the fault was caused by but sounds like it's ok now?

In terms of the mods you're about right in terms of 50% or so value for using it and selling it on...

The exhaust stuff is really easy to do (takes about an hour) and doesn't void any warranty either. It'll improve the sound some as well (check out the video and link below):

http://www.sharkwerks.com/products.php?pid=193

As far as the tuning side goes, it took a lot of work to eke anything out and I've had a few folks drive it and say ours is certainly reflective of the results that we got (check the thread below):

EVOMSit Software: Tuning the SharkWerks 2009 997S

I wouldn't hold your breath for too long on a PDK TT because it'll be a while IMHO. I don't believe in current form that this transmission can hold the desired torque on a TT.

hey fellas just another quick update... Fabspeed (cheers Jeremy) sent over one of their early versions of an intake system to play with and test. We'll get some dyno work done in the next couple of weeks to see what happens. The stock one is a marked improvement over the Gen 1's with to inlets and ducts however at the merge it seems to get quite messy (see pic of the stock one opened up below).

Installation is a breeze and there's also a CF heat-shield/shroud. I've already been around the block and the sound is pretty sweet I have to say!

Alex, yeah...Fabspeed is making some nice products for the 997.2...especially this intake.

Does the computer adjust itself enough with the increased air flow?

Hey mdrums, well remember our ECU is already tuned. Once we hit the dyno etc... we'll see what/if needs to be adjusted

Hey Alex

Besides the sound, are there any noticeable increase in performance?

So if I put the Fabspeed intake on my car along with the side muffler by pass pipses I have will it cause the car to run too lean or will the stock ECU adjust and run too rich?

I hear tha the stock ECU is running rich but then I hear this new stock ECU will adjust to a lot of mods...lots of confusing info out there on the new 09 997.

thanks!

hey mike, there are multiple ignition maps the ECU can run but I haven't run it with your set up. There's this thread that shows what I mean:

Glad you are happy with the new Fabspeed air intake. They do sound great on the car, and also gave it a nice hp and tq increase on the stock car without the ECU Flash. Here is a dyno of the Fabspeed Intake for everybody.

Thanks for posting Jeremy... as I was saying we'll get some video of the sound but above 5.5Krpms the engine sound really roars!

Another update today to complete the techart type 1 kit along with the new 19inch Formula III wheels:

how come you guys (sharkwerks) never posted dyno or video ...showing intake and release details of what your dyno results were with the fabspeed intake...only shows fabspeeds and since all the sudden the thread was just forgotten makes me think your results were sh*t
