how come you guys (sharkwerks) never posted dyno or video ...showing intake and release details of what your dyno results were with the fabspeed intake...only shows fabspeeds and since all the sudden the thread was just forgotten makes me think your results were sh*t
I don't know..... but couldn't you have phrased your question a little friendlier. I have found Sharkwerks very very helpful and so pleasant to deal with. I"m new to the board.....maybe thats acceptable

+1 seriously. completely uncalled for.
Sharkwerks is very busy and probably just didn't get to posting the results yet. I know first-hand how swamped they are over there.
I agree too...the post was unfriendly. I have not seen Sharkwerks put much ina last week or so...they are busy running a business.
I do hope they around to doing some dyno runs with the Fabspeed air intake because there car is a PDK like mine and I'd like to see there baseline and the intake kit dyno runs.
Mostly what I am curious about is how much the stock ECU will adjust and if the car will run a little leaner since the car seems to be programed to run rich.

hi sammyrusso, it's been raining cats and dogs the last couple of weeks and you're right Fabspeed did send us the intake to test fit and play with hence we shared that info. Obviously we don't make the part etc... but as soon as we get some clear weather and time we'll certainly test it. Although comparing the dyno runs from a car on the east coast that's a 6speed on a different dyno then our PDK car run in AWD on a mustang dyno isn't going to show you much. It will only show you what our car is like with/without it on the dyno we use.

Hi Sammyrusso, our pleasure in terms of the help... that's what we're here for If we had a 6speed car this would have been done/dusted so long ago but in case you weren't aware (and this is why most places gave up with the PDK in favor of a 6speed) it's really hard to dyno the PDK version of these cars. The only dyno and set up that the PDK car can actually run on correctly (a mustang AWD etc...) remotely in our area is about 150mile round-trip. I do know that Fabspeed and several of their customers have done dyno runs with their intake (in different areas of the country) so do go ahead and check with them (give them a call etc...). I'm not sure what kind of gain we'll see on that set up but we'll find out next week or so. Since the process takes a whole day I was planning on bring up another item to play with too. It's not just a simple 8 seconds X3. You can see from this thread our poor car has over 150 dyno runs and just from testing our bypass and the EVOMSit software. Our aim isn't to disprove Fabspeed's claims and/or dyno (numbers are going to be different on our car, set up and dyno because of the variables being so different and I believe they offer a money-back guarantee but again I'd advise you contact them since it's their product.
On 997.1 intakes we've seen anywhere from 6-8rwhp gains from intakes so it's nothing earth-shattering either but the sound sure is fun.
PS Cheers Tunarollz, Mdrums and Lockie

Why would you want to be rude toward Fabspeed? What have they done wrong towards you? I believe Sharkwerks has explained themselves enough on here. Fabspeed posted their dyno results which you can view on the Fabspeed website. Geesh!
want trying to be rude to anyone.. was saying i understood how it came across...look after all the exhaust x pipe / bypass pipe arguing i saw between awe and fabspeed it just made me second guess manufactuers claims...and fabspeeds dynos show 20hp gain on intake! and another 20 on bypass pipes! (seems insane to me, never seen intakes give that much hpp especially on an NA car) so was really anticipating sharkwerks dyno of another company's product. again not saying their not true, i just never seen that
rightfully so...you should question these manufactures claims.
I totally understand your frustration because AWE claims a loss in power with an X pipe and Fabspeed claims a gain. Also other manufactures claim a gain in HP with an X pipe but not near Fabspeeds claims.
Anyway, I too hope for more independent dyno tests of these type of products but in the Porsche world I do not believe we are going to get it...not like you see in the Vette and Mustang magazines...then again who really knows if they are even being truthful. Excellence (our only USA Porsche magazine) will not do product tests like what we are looking for because they need advertiser money and if they find an advertisers product does not meet the claim and they print it...well you get the picture.
Only way to really know is to buy the Fabspeed intake you are questioning and test it yourself. If you call Fabspeed they might work out a return policy with you if the intake did not meet your reasonable expectations with a controlled same day and time before and after test.

Hey fellas, here's a suspension-a-polooza update for project ZTadpol. We've gotten quite a few new toys in this week so I thought I'd give you a little sample of some of the suspension changes in store. In many ways thanks to the 6speed community and friends we've made we've actually been working behind the scenes with the team at RSS. Their manufacturing expertise/ capabilities and their ability to work in-house is so paramount. In fact, they've long been cranking out some of our parts and have been making parts for just about everyone for donkeys years. Their full line has been available for 996/997 cars for a while and our 09 997 is no different and hence we've been hammering away at suspension components for the more ardent track folks.
This includes an adjustable toe steer kit (also replaces the inner bushing with a steel monoball) as shown here:
And compared to the stocker
Adjustable rear links:
And compared to stock:
Also on tap are the adjustable thrust arm bushings (which do away with the neoprene):
And finally the monoball lower control arm kit.
Our rear end being worked on by James:
Dan will be releasing all of the info etc... over the next few days but for now that's a taste or you can head over to the suspension section on the site and dig around

The light's a little better today and with the rotors off (more on that in a second...) you can get a better idea of the level of adjustability and just how we're rid of most of the "cushy" stuff

Now on to the two piece rotor upgrades. The 997S 09 comes with 330mm front and 330mm rears so not only are we going with a lighter weight two piece slotted/drilled rotor but these can actually bolt on with caliper spacers to fit 350mm ones (also still lighter).
All four stock vs new:
Front RSS one comes in at 22.16 pounds:
Smaller stock one is still heavier at 23.24 pounds
New larger rears at 17.7 pounds:
Old smaller stockers at 19.86 pounds:
