I have Tubi headers, AWE cats (100 cell), and Tubi mufflers. However, i was going for max power gains while staying street legal. I'll admit it is extremely loud. It's louder then my buddies 06 997S with fabspeed muffler by pass set up. Not for the faint of heart. I however love the sound, yet most would say it's just plain too loud. I can't get enough of it. Cold start ups at idle sound insane. When the car warms up it quiets down quite a bit, very livable then.

I just took my EVOM's Headers out and Put my Stock ones back in... Now with the Tubi Mufflers and Fabspeed Sport Pipe's... Its half as Loud, sounds nice and Rumbbly sorta like a Subaru...

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I do not want to mess up the great sound I get from the Tubi mufflers, but did want to add some power. Since the car is already fast enough, I guess I will just stick with the great soundtrack.
If anyone out there has the tubi with awe cats, I would love to hear it just to be sure.
Honestly Laps, after driving the 997 when i hop into the CLS i can barely hear the exhaust, even at start up. CLS has a low 'burble' at idle when cold, sounds just like my old 2003 SVT cobra did. 997 is ridiculas at cold start up, you have to shout if you're standing outside next to it. Not for everyone! Everyone else that comes in the CLS thinks it's loud though. I've just become immune to it i suppose....I would love to put an exhuast on the CLS but it's a lease I'll soon return. I'm may post some vids on youtube of the 997 soon. I havent seen anyone with my exact set up so I think ppl might like the vids, or hate them lol.
Anyways, in my opinion, get the cats, they really made my car fly! It was my latest mod and a mod that i felt instantly. When the car is warm and you drive normal, and change gears under 3500 rpm its pretty tame. Only at WOT it sounds LOUD.
BTW, what part of VA are you from, my wife works there and I'm planning a road trip down. She's in Fairfax VA.
Let me know if you get anything posted on youtube, I would like to hear it. I work in Tyson's Corner(Vienna) which is not far from Fairfax. Your wife has a long commute, Toronto to Fairfax!
LOL, we just got married a year ago, we visit back and forth for now. Wow I've been there Tyson's Corner has some good shopping lol. I'll pm you next time i decide to drive down. You'll hear my wife yelling at me in the passanger seat so it may drown out the sound of the exhaust. I've never driven the 997 down cause she hates it. But im dying to make that trip in the 997. Almost lost my license in the M5 last time down LOL! You guys have such perfectly paved roads there I can't wait to hit them.
Hey Ian. Glad to hear you are back on the road and enjoying your car. have wondered how you made out. Congratulations, Gerry
Thanks Gerry
The problem I had with my engine quite literally cured itself whilst the guys at the workshop were warming it up to do some tests. One moment clack, clack, clack..... the next completely back to normal. Touch wood, it has been perfectly OK since! We can only think that some small piece of crap got into an oilway feeding one of the hydraulic lifters. Soon as it disloged, everything was OK and we asssume it ended up caught in the the oil filter.
Now have the full AWE installed and enjoying every minute. The car is very notioceably quicker than standard in the top half of the rpm band. Very efficient product. Makes the car a very enjoyable drive. If only it sounded like the Tubi.....!

Happy ending. Cool. re awe: I grew up on American V8's. Love the rumble ;-) Gerry
I'm a little bias, but the Tubi sounds great to me. I'd love to see vids on a 997S with the Tubi and cats, if anyone has one. Here's another vid with just the Tubi exhaust.
