thanks to everyone on the forum for the advice. as some of you know, i bought an '06 c2s about 6 weeks ago. i've been loving it, slowly getting used to manual / driving a car that can kill me. my friend w/ a decent slr camera finally had a chance to take some photos, so here they are. enjoy!

What kind of deal did you get? Just wondering what the market is as I own an O6 as well.
Oh, BTW..the car can get you in serious trouble. Headed home via the highway route one morning and was next to a 328i..my wife leaned over and asked my why in the hell I was doing 115mph..all I said was..doesn't feel like it

Enjoy and be careful, it's such a powerful car.
After waiting 6 months for the used car market to crack, I jumped on a deal in my area since I had just started my new job and wanted to get it out of the way. I got it for $61k ('06 C2S / 23k miles / 2 yrs left of OEM warranty / chrono, bose, heated+power seats, colored crests) via Parin @ Chicago Motor Cars. It was a decent deal at the time.
Unfortunately the market (and the euro) crashed about 3 weeks afterwards, so now I think you could get the same car for about $3-4k cheaper, particularly w/ winter coming up.
Yeah, I hear you! The worst is when I'm switching lanes and I instinctively speed up a bit as I check my mirrors/blind spot. Then I'll look back and realize I'm going 20 mph faster than everyone else.
I actually drove my friend's 328xi and thought it was a lot more "dangerous" in that the ride was so much softer and the engine so much quieter that I would forget I was zipping along at 60mph in residential zones.
