Exclamation Dyno Results for 09 SharkWerks 997S PDK baseline vs exhaust

Hey folks, dyno testing on the new 09 PDK cars is somewhat of a chore to say the least If you've got a 6speed you're in much better shape... If not, just make sure you do so on an AWD mustang dyno in Sport Plus, and 4th or 5th gears only, with PSM off. It's very important that the system is mechanically linked and with the front wheels turning or else the tranny will go straight into limp mode (or worse). With that out of the way we ran in AWD mode today to get a baseline vs the SharkWerks Exhaust and got some interesting results to share with you (we got a few ponies - 12HP and 14TQ). Bear in mind we're running on 91 octane in AWD mode here and with a 20% drive train loss according to the fine folks at Stasis.

Can you try to translate that to a theoretical for a C2S? If 20% driveline loss for AWD, what's a reasonable figure for RWD and what would that put the theoretical numbers at?

Thanks Alan, it's been fun/challenging going back and forth on a few set ups And isn't the PDK a real pisser to dyno... I'd put it about one half step above a Tip in that sense I think you're .1 is set up to the max though and would give us a good run indeed what with the LWF which we can't do...

Hi Ron, I'm sure we'll do some tests on 6speed shortly but keep in mind it's the delta between the stock/modified you want whether 6 or PDK. A RWD car on that dyno has about 12-14% drive train loss on that one. Each dyno is different though obviously. You could speculate that the RWD 6peed would have shown a slightly larger difference.

Thanks Greg! Got to try it now with the Cargraphic side mufflers too for those that want it loud

What I was thinking is that if you lost 20% of the increase in power to the driveline, and you had a driveline that only loses 14%, then there should be some additional gain available to RWD. So, 12 becomes 17 and 14 becomes 20.

Hi Ron, you'd be sort of right there yes... What you're looking at here is more of a "bottom-line" (worst-case scenario) which is fine by us Yes on a 6speed the baseline will be higher as will the end result.... One other thing to consider is that for our testing we used 91 octane as opposed to 93 octane. You'll make more power on your baseline/modded runs with 93 octane since it'll run a higher ignition map.

Thanks snowboarder54... Not sure anything can compete with the motor on the 3 but we could compare it to Linda's, and transmission aside, I bet you'll lie it

Thanks Dave, I've got a collection of vids, which sort of have some of that cold-start if you will:

Very nice Alex! Like I said before, the acceleration feels more responsive and the exhaust is not too annoying, but still sounds aggressive.

So when are we going to start Stage II?
