Stacy has them on 20" wheels, not sure but I would imagine that the lower side wall on the tires makes them tougher to stretch.

even more so..

yes, with the 20s I imagine it's even more of a problem. I find with the 295s I am "dragging" the tire along the pavement at full lock backing up or going from one height surface to another (say, over a driveway).

machina will become famous soon enough
continental specs call for a 10" => 11" rim for their 295/25/20

their measuring rimsize is 10.5"

[quote=justatoy;2307227]If you have an 11 inch wide rim PLEASE do not do the 295......waaaayyyy to stretched with the conti tires....I tried!

I agree - I have 295's on my 11" gt3 rims and everyone asks, are they low on air. As soon as I burn them up I'll go to 305's or 315's.

FYI, I got the PS2's (295/25/20) installed today and did a side by side comparison vs the ContiSport3 (305/25/20). The PS2's are taller but the ContiSport3's are slightly wider (but not by much.

The difference in gap in the wheel well is not noticeable due to the PS2's sidewall being more vertical. The car rides better and I got a killer deal on these tires so I'm really happy. This is the first time I chose function over form and I'm glad I did.

Separate from the sizing, one comment in your post that was a bit ambiguous but left me wanting to ask what kind of tires are on the front of your car? It they are Conti's, I wouldn't suggest swapping to PS2's on the rears unless you swap the fronts to Michelin's as well. Mixing brands is generally not a good thing. If this is the case, then before you worry about spending money on lowering your car (a truly great thing IMHO) make sure you're driving with a matched set.

if I replace them w/ Michelin PS2's but they are 295/25/20 will the gap in the wheel well look bigger (from 305 vs 295) or will I not even notice?

My car is not lowered and I'm probably not going to lower it any time soon. I didn't know if going from a 305 to 295 tire would make a difference.

Thanks!

I was thinking the same thing. I have P Zeros right now and want to replace it with PS2s, but my front tires still have plenty of thread so was thinking about just swapping out the rear tires.

Does have different brand impact the performance of the tires?

Also, there are different type of PS2s like 91Y and 87Y. What are the difference between the different models?

I'll quickly get out of my depth here but I'm quite certain that mixing brands won't affect the performance of the tires but rather the performance of the car. Different levels of adhesion and tolerance for water/planing will have the car reacting in a way that was not part of the original design. You want to maintain equivalent characteristics front to back and that can only be done by using tires that are matched in fundamental design and material.
Re the designation on P2's, I believe that Porsche-specific tires have the 'N' designator. But matching brand/model is more important than the finer detail of the 'N' thing. That said, I believe that tires with the 'N' label might be sized slightly different than the non-'N' tires.
Oh and FWIW I did not get 'N' tires when swapping from Pirelli (consistently horrible IMHO) to P2's (the only tire to buy, again IMHO). Didn't know about that designator at the time. I have nothing against which to compare these but they still seem amazingly great.
