Couldn't they at least evaluate alternatives and choose those that get the biggest bang for the buck? But, maybe do it AFTER the threat of Cali defaulting on loans and all that crap is over? Jeesh. Car colors - THAT's what the legislature thinks is most pressing right now?

I've never understrood why people in California believe they can single handedly save the planet from the other 6 billion or so people living on it. Should Californians pass this latest law, it, along with most of the other similar laws in Califonia which have contributed to it's current financial condition, will have no impact what so ever on anything including the issues it is intended to correct. Remember, while we may not survive Global Warming or the next Ice Age or Mega Volcanic eruption, the Planet will so don't worry be happy.

Exactly right. What's surprising is that it appear that the electorate at this point is not willing to learn. Years ago voters were willing to make changes.

Isn't it crazy? Just for the record. It's not the Californians, it's the idiotic politicians we put into office here.

8th largest economy in the world my ass. Sure, the news and pundits love to quote such drivel, but its a misleading statistic.

They only have such a large economy because they don't have to pay for all of the things other nations have to pay for: defense, lots of highways, etc.

What nation gets other nations to ship in funds to pay for their projects (federal tax dollars flow into Cali). What nation doesn't have the expense of running its own economy by printing money, postal system, defense, etc, etc etc.

We blame California (people, electorate, trying to save the world) for being stupid, but apparently we other 49 states care so much about what these people say and do that celebrities are now a key supporting population for getting a President elected... CALIFORNIAN celebrities. That candidate not need any kind of real relevant experience, or any kind of plan to support outrageous claims. All the puppetmasters need to do is get a celebrity or two from every kind of "pop culture" (David Allen Grier, Carson Daily, Matt Damon, Sting... that's covers a lot of them) to openly and passionately support a candidate and BLAM, we, quite literally, have a president named Hussein. Now, which is crazier: President Hussein or a black car ban?

Didn't some race team measure that black cars were actually generating more heat than a white car and lessened the amount of stress on components? I think I read it here.

Are legislators just bored? I can't believe they don't have better things to do in this economic climate.

BlacktOut, I am surprised by that response, what's in a name? Sorry he is not named John Smith to make you feel better. Why let the Irish take municipal, state and local office in the late 1800's? A Catholic took Office in 1960...Why do you have a Japanese TV, the list goes on. This is America, the great melting pot.

I'd be happy to debate this further via PM so we both don't get banned for "off-topic"

Sorry man. It's not that the name alone is my issue, but that my interpretation of his choices thus far (insane spending, putting ALL of that spending on those who make over $250,000 and not "one dime on those who make less" and thus villinizing those of us who actually give a rats ass and think before we act in life) while pushing an overtly socialist (and by historical proof destuctive and ultimately enslaving) regime, I'm fine with calling a spade a spade... especially when his Mamma named him that in the first place.

So would the term "black prius" become an oxymoron?

You'd think it would be wiser to concentrate on getting 15+ year old cars off the road. SoCal is famous for the "Poor mans SUV"- all those old 1970's chevy vans running around...

People need to wake up and smell the coffee. If it wasn't so sad it would be funny.

I hate the idea of smoking in public areas, but take away one freedom and theres no reason to not attack them all. Next thing you know it will become a crime to fart due to increase in methane gas, which of course every one knows is a killer to the atmosphere.

I'm with Gorge Carlen; only the human race can be so impressed with their own importance that they think they can change the climate.
