I have the Techequip 996 bar in my car. Fits very well, looks great, no squeaks or rattles.

Is it welded in, or bolted in??
Do you have roll bar padding on it??
TIA,
Mr. B

It is Bolted in to the seat belt mounting points, and is a single piece, weights very little, I don't have any padding on it, mounted my harnesses to it. I bought it from Suncoast, here is the link.

If you are looking for a half cage with bolt in feature; I would highly recommend looking into something that mounts to the rear strut mounts. There are many styles to choose from out on the market. For my money and protection it would be the DAS sport bolt in cage.

I looked at that DAS very nice stuff, but I don't think that it is compatible with the Bose System that I have in my car.

Yes, good point to bring up. It does not work with any speaker boxes or subwoofers mounted on the deck behind the back seats.

If tracking the car on a regular basis one might opt to trade sound for safety though.

It all really boils down to your intentions with the car and personal desire; the true beauty and fun of customizing a car.

Agreed 100%, I am still using mine for DD (in the better weather months) and about 10-20 track days a year. I have been considering the future of this car, and may decide to make it even lighter in the future and make it a more raw street legal car, that sees the road occasionally and the track often. A lot of it boils down to free time. I have no desire to race, but do enjoy "Sport Driving" as Don Kitch calls it.

I have all my OEM parts and may return it to stock and sell all the cheater parts, but that won't happen for quiet some time.

As for safety, the Techequip bar should be enough, but I never want to find out!
