I just bought a set of Direzza Star Specs for my S2000 and they are amazing. I'd get them for the P-car if I could. Nearly the grip of an R compound but no need to heat them up. Fantastic for auto-x. Supposedly will stand up to a lapping day without getting super greasy like the RT615 Azenis.

i was using Ps2's since i have owned the car, gone thru around 4-5 sets (with tracking)..i noticed that they are pretty good on the street, but tear up very easily at the track. i have since got the toyo r888 and couldnt be happier. i think if you do the occasional track day and like to do some canyon runs from time to time, i would recommend the toyos.

I finished a set of PS2s last season and am currently running Kumho Ecsta MXs. Both sets have been run on the street and at a high performance driving school, I've found the Kumhos to perform very similarly as the PS2s.
And at 50% of the price, they are an excellent bang for the buck!
Thanks for all the feed back guys. I'm thinking of going for the Bridgestone or the Nitto Invo's. My business is a 24/7 operation so track time with the car is kind of a wet dream at this point, so for street tires I figure I could save a few bucks and get something less than the ps2's. One question I do have is, as long as the tire has a 102y rating is the addtitonal N rating that big of a deal? Its to my understanding that the N just means that Porsche tested that tire with that model car and they approve it. Am I close on this one?
Here's a noob question for you. The Michiline's that came on my car say Pilot Sport on the side. I can't find any PS2 markings on the sidewall...unless I'm looking in the wrong place, or blind. However, the tread pattern looks identical to PS2 pics and nothing like Pilot Sport pics. If I have PS2's, where's the marking? The salesguy at the dealer made a point to mention the great set of tires that came on my car...I didn't pay much attention until joining this site. .

[quote=mdrums;2412560]No you will not know the difference on the street...that is what I was getting at on my other post. None of you including me are pushing the car enough on the street to even reach 60% of it's potential....none of us on this forum unless you are Hurley Haywood or Patrick Long have the skill to even drive this car at 10/10th's.
None of should drive on the street at anywhere near the way we do at the track.
But, at the track, I would say there are some of us who can drive the car at 10/10ths, and for that experience you want the best performance tire out there. When it's time for me to replace my PS2's I will check the latest tire reviews and choose the one that provides the best track performance. If I were choosing a tire for just every day street use, then I would go with the lowest price option.

You are on the right track..as long as load and speed ratings are the same you will have no issues. I to am looking into the Nitto Invo's. I don't track this car and from what I have heard they are darn near the grip levels of the PS2 for alot less money.

How about treadwear & noise comfort ratings? Tirerack has PS2 at 7.5 treadwear and 8.6 noise comfort; PZero at 4.9 treadwear and 7.1 noise; Bridgstone RE050A at 6.5 treadwear and 7.3 noise.
Anyone is going to try the new Bridgestone RE-11? Or have tried already? I know they are no N tyres.
I have a set I'm using for track days. 245/35/19 fronts and 305/30/19 rears. These tires helped tremendously with under steer, are predictable near the limit, have excellent wet and dry grip, and are reasonably quiet.

I was looking for a video you posted and review of the RE11 for a guy on here and rennlist.
