Aftermarket Wing Owners

I will be doing the GT3 kit for my 997 and would like to get some insight from those of you who installed an aftermarket GT3 wing as the OEM is very expensive. What are your experiences with NR Automotive versus Misha911 Wings? Is the fitment perfect or required work from the body shop? And also was there a need to fit a different fan? I know the GT3 utilizes a smaller/thinner fan.

We've been really happy with the quality and fitment of the NR Auto parts so far. Fitment and quality are both good. We're also local so we can take care of paint and installation for you as well.

If you want a slightly more aggressive RS style wing, we're going to be releasing a very exciting new carbon product for the 997 very soon. I should have more info and pictures within the next few days.

I'd also like to hear more about the quality of 3rd party options.

I noticed MA Shaw is local to me. Are their kits of good quality?

This is the only way to go. This is a $80,000 plus car and you dont want it to look like a cheap import tuner.

1. OEM Front Bumper from Suncoast (nothing else, don't even think about it!)
2. Rear wing go aftermarket, but do not use any of the companies you mentioned.

I just finished putting a GT3 RS wing on my car, after I had a GT3 wing on, so yes I know what im talking about.

Suncoast actually has a promotion on the OEM Aerokit!!! It's only about $3,600... You can't find it cheaper!

Great price but note that it is ONLY for cars WITHOUT Headlight Washers. Also, I think it's a little different from the GT3 front bumper (but for that price, who cares).

Who actually use the Headlight Washers??? Can't you get them removed?

The only difference between the Aerokit and the OEM GT3 Bumper is the Upper Grill, but the Aerokit Bumper could be cut, and the Grill can be inserted

For a rear wing, I would take a look at the Vorsteiner wing. There is a DVWP (dry vacuum woven plastic) with carbon blade version as well as a full carbon fiber version. I always recommend Vorsteiner products since I know fitment is extremely good and the quality of all their items is incredible. The carbon fiber weave is also very impressive.

Everything is included for installation as well as the Porsche Wire Kit to disable the wing lift mechanism. No new fan is required as it is designed to work with the OEM component.

Right after I close on the purchase of my 997S, I will be doing the rear wing thing. I love the looks of the Rinspeed GT and the Techart III wing. The NR Type III wing looks indentical to the Rinspeed and TA III but is a helluva lot cheaper ($1,495 compared to $2,500 and $3,500). I'm curious to hear from those that have seen in person, felt, etc the NR stuff.

I'm partial to my Cargraphic. Its in your face, but thats what the back of P cars need is a proper finish.
